     Benny was rescued from a high kill shelter and had been attacked by another animal, and he came to us with stitches in his neck, kennel cough, giardia, and he was not even neutered. Benny cleaned up beautifully, and with his sweet and gentle demeanor was quickly adopted Thank you Rescue Me once again for bringing yet another wonderful new human companion for our precious boy, Benny. His new family love and adore him and we could not be happier for everyone, especially our sweet Benny!

     My experience with Rescue Me was excellent. I found a forever home with an older retired couple. Since Cait is a bit of a couch potato, this was the perfect home. Thank you so much for allowing me to post Cait on your site. I feel sad about having to give her up. But I'm sure her new forever home is an excellent choice. They will love and care for her. Like she was always a part of their life. Dianne, thank you so much for adopting Cait and loving her for the sweet girl she is.

     A Big Thanks to 'Rescue Me' for finding Tuffy a new and loving home!!! With a heavy heart it was a countdown to euthanasia if we were unable to find a good home for this little old guy. Due to allergies and large dogs in the house, the family members were unable to take Tuffy in. Only two options remained, re-homing or euthanasia. We were hopeful and doing our best to spread the word around, yet there were many doubts because of his age. To our surprise though within a few days several folks stepped up to take in this sweet homeless pooch. These were solid, compassionate people who cared about, and loved Chihuahua's. All but one of the potential adopters were through Rescue Me. So on behalf of Tuffy and our family, we are incredibly grateful for this avenue that provided a new and happy chapter in his senior life. Oh, and Tuffy has two Chihuahua sisters that met him, liked him, and are now his best bud companions.

     I want to thank Rescue Me For everything they have done, by allowing me to post snickers on the site, providing certain tools like the urgent alert for when he was at risk of being put down by the shelter! I now can say thanks to this site that my baby is now on his way to a new stable home that I'm sure he will love! He's on his way there now with this amazing person who stepped in and taking him as her own when he needed it.      My husband and I adopted Rico from PAAWS. We had been looking for another Chihuahua since the Fall of 2017. When we came across Rico on Rescue Me, we fell in love with his sweet face. We drove from Indianapolis to Evansville to meet the foster parent and Rico. We brought our Chihuahua, Shelbie, with us since ultimately she would be the deciding factor on whether we would adopt Rico. She instantly got along with Rico.      I am so thankful for Rescue Me. I had taken in my aunt's senior Chihuahua after her sudden passing. I had intended to find him a home immediately, but became very attached to the little love bug. But it became quickly clear, I didn't have the time he deserved and my husband wanted me to get rid of him right away because of his allergies. To make things worse, we found out soon after getting him that Chip had congestive heart failure. He was on meds that stabilized his condition to where he could have a very good quality of life. However, the condition meant he was pretty much unadoptable and no other rescue groups were able to help him. I was about to give up hope until I came upon Rescue Me. Within a week of posting, I was contacted by the PERFECT home. I couldn't have asked for a better result to such a tragic set of circumstances. Chip deserved a good home to live out the rest of his years and with Rescue Me's help we found it.

     I had Chloe and Puck for three months trying to find them their perfect and forever home. I had been turned down by almost all the local shelters in my area and even some that were farther. No one was willing to help me, in fact, most of the shelters just waved me off. It made the process excruciating. I found Rescue Me and posted them here as an added help.      I was so sad and so worried when I found out that my family and I had to move and we could not take our babies! I cried for days, know that they are such wonderful animals and I would not be there for them. Suzzie Q. Was the first to be adopted. A wonderful lady contacted me about her and she was very caring with regard to our situation. She works with a rescue group that places dogs like Suzzie Q. She told me about an older lady who had applied for a small dog and had been on the waiting list for some time now. She was home all day and had a very stable home for Suzzie. They sent me lots of pics of Suzzie and I could see what a nice home she was in. I still cry because I miss her but I know she has a good home and didn't have to go to the shelter. I know Suzzie's life is bigger then just me. She has helped me so much in life and now she is helping someone else. Suzzie Q is truly living up to her calling! God Bless Rescue Me.

She was found wandering the busy streets and I took her in. Unfortunately, after a vet visit to fix her skin condition, she ended up needing stronger medications. At the same time I was just beginning my chemotherapy treatments and couldn't have her in my house. I was heart broken to let her go, especially when she and my two other adopted Yorkies became friends! After I posted about her, I received numerous inquiries and found little Coco her new home!      I was really stressing out about finding a home for my Chihuahua. I got really attached to the little guy so finding a home for him was very hard because I wanted to make sure that he went to a really good home with an owner that was going to love him and treat him well. Overnight, I got a response from a beautiful lady who was a previous Chihuahua owner and had lost her pet a few months ago. We talked several times via email, text and by phone. She was very sweet and pleasant. I introduced Mojo to her and she fell in love with him right away. It was hard for me to give him away, but she had such great energy, I felt comfortable. We have since exchanged texts and Mojo has adjusted just fine to her. He definitely found a permanent home. I am thankful for Rescue Me. I don't know if I would have found a good person to adopt my dog, otherwise! Thank you!

     A very nice retire person adopted Porkchop to his 'forever' home. I was surprised for all the response and quickly through Rescue Me. I was in a pickle. Porkchop was a rescue and I had him in my home for four months while I fostered him. He was a mess. Seven pounds and lots of bad habits, but he loved kids. He learned fast and became a lovable dog at 12 pounds. The adopted family, after fostering, was not the right people. Porkchop was abused, no medical shots, and grooming was non existent. I got him back just as I was getting ready to move. Spent $383 at the vet to get him up to where he was at my home. Spent three weeks getting his training back to normal and lots of love. He is a real sweetie, but stubborn on the leash. Unfortunately, the previous family taught him to dislike large dogs. I did not have enough time to correct that bad behavior fully since I am moving on the 21st and could not take him with me. Hopefully in the new home, he will learn to like everyone.      This is not my first adoption from Rescue Me. I drove over over four hours one way to pick up my new addition. I don't know his whole story, but he is amazing. He was well mannered riding in the car and is now my shadow. He took complete ownership of all his gifts - dog bed, blanket, sweater, toys. He established himself with my other two dogs within a few hours. If you have the opportunity to adopt PLEASE DO IT. Rescued dogs are THE MOST appreciative. They make great additions to your family.      My husband and I lost our 11 year old Annabelle this past summer. She was a funny, loving Chihuahua with a huge personality. A true 'one of a kind' gem and love of our life. She had a maxed out heart murmur the second half of her life, but it rarely slowed her down. It was finally her heart medicine that took out her kidneys. Still, I wouldn't have changed a thing. Then Napoleon appeared on Rescue Me. Before long, I was checking daily to see if he was still available as we were still out of state. As soon as we got back here, I found out how soon we could meet him. And it was a match made in Heaven. He's unbelievably amazing and the blessing we needed. I can't imagine life without him. Our family is complete. Thank you so much.

     My fiance and I decided to look at dogs who were up for adoption. We weren't really planning to adopt just yet, but we fell in love with Remi and Rowan immediately. After seeing their picture on Rescue Me, I sent an email about them. They were still available. They had a loving foster family, who hated to part with them because these two dogs were seriously the sweetest animals. We love them so much, and cannot wait to shower them with love and affection.      I adopted Joey. He is a wonderful, energetic three year old who has found his way into my heart and my home. I lost my husband from leukemia, and then I lost our 13 year old Chihuahua, Dumplyn, to kidney failure this year. When I saw the posting on Rescue Me for Joey, I knew the time was right to give him his new forever home. In the short time I have had him, he has helped to fill the void left in my life by the passing of my husband and Dumplyn. We enjoy our walks, and when I tuck him under his blanket in his bed at night, then when I awake, he is under the blanket on my bed and comes out to give me all sorts of precious kisses. He loves to follow me EVERYWHERE, and he knows I don't mind a bit! We both have a lot of love to give to each other. Thank you, Rescue Me, for bringing Joey and me together.

     I adopted my little Frodo, a long haired Chihuahua, found on Rescue Me. He is nine years old, but such a good, well-behaved and sweet boy! His previous dad had to find his precious pup a home due to financial and traveling issues. I never dreamed my little boy would be so loving and adorable. I have two cats and they play together. Though my baby's name was Kratos at the time of adoption, I changed it to Frodo, which seemed more fitting for a mommy's boy. I send pictures to Frodo's dad just so he knows how happy Frodo and I are to be together. Thank you, Rescue Me! I never would have found my Frodo without you.

     I'm getting too old and disabled to give time to my blind Chihuahua. I posted on Rescue Me to rehome him. I had a couple people contact me who then backed out when I reminded them that he is blind. Then a lady contacted me who sounded seriously interested in a dog with special circumstances. We met this lovely lady with children who instantly fell in love with him, and he immediately took to them! That's when we knew he was in the right home. Thank you, Rescue Me! It's hard to give up a pet, but when you meet a good person for your pet, it is all worth it.

     I received a call from someone interested in adopting Peanut a few days after posting her information on this site. The woman and her husband wanted to take her for a couple of days to see how they'd fit. She and her husband decided to keep Peanut. They're happy, Peanut is happy, and I'm happy she found a good home. Thanks, Rescue Me!

     Rico was pulled the night before being euthanized from a high kill shelter due to heartworms. He was immediately adopted the next day to a nice kind lady who fell in love at first sight. He was started on Doxy for his condition and she was informed would need to follow up with vet in 30 days. After 60 days, a follow up 'how is he doing' call was made to find out that she had not treated him. I revoked her ownership and immediately brought him back into rescue. Over the three months he received the necessary treatments to kill those nasty bugs. He became quite comfortable around my place, with only my son and I, two dogs and two cats. After treatment he began to attend adoption events and it was quickly realized that he had an issue with the male gender, which resulted in longer rescue time, less interest in adopting and after six months, I feared, he would become a permanent fixture. In an attempt to find every avenue to get his word out, I found Rescue Me. I said what the heck and posted. In less than a week, I received interest from what has become his new mom. She and her son were having dinner one night and said, okay it is time, I am ready and they both started searching every site possible for 'the one'. From here the rest is history! Rico now lives about an hour away, with two sister cats, a sister dog, a mommy and a human brother. He is doing AMAZING! Loves his walks, his car rides and his family. He is super smart and has an amazing life ahead. Thank you, Rescue Me!

     Thanks, Rescue Me. When we received this sweet girl, she had issues. Then came a baby tooth removal, worming and antibiotics. She slept and ate and ate and ate. She had a broken hind leg that was determined to be over a year old. She is approximately two to three years of age. Full of love and life! She learned to like cats and is leash and potty trained. She now has a new mommy named Maria. Thank you also to Tehaphapi's news editor for featuring her in her editorial. This girl has a forever home!

The website was easy to use and once we contacted the link on the adoption page, the Maricopa Freedom Riders quickly responded, and within a week, we took our baby home.      Buddy is a sweet little guy who lost his mom (my good friend) to a stroke. Her family was so distraught about their loss that I offered to try to find Buddy a home. Searching the web, I found Rescue Me and am I ever glad that I did. Over a period of five or six days, I received many inquiries on the little guy and finally set up a meeting today with a wonderful lady who needed Buddy in her life. They hit it off immediately and, after half an hour, Buddy was standing up in the passenger seat of a fancy sports car wagging his tail as hard as he could. Shades of 'Legally Blonde' went through our heads as he was escorted to a new life.... All because of the wonderful work of the dedicated staff of Rescue Me! Your website is so very user friendly and communication is certainly easily facilitated. When my magnificent Catahoula says her final goodbyes, I know where I will find another forever friend. Thanks so much for everything you at Rescue Me do for us pet lovers and the 'babies' we love so much.

     Thanks, Rescue Me! My dog Blackie found a wonderful home. The ironic part was until I saw what he should have looked like and acted like, I hadn't realized how miserable he must have been with us. We were caring for him all wrong. I had never even seen him wag his tail and he was only about 60% of his ideal weight. I am so glad he found a new home and he is thriving now. Within 30 minutes of meeting his new mama, he was wagging his tail and so visibly happy. Now he is up to 100% of his ideal weight and loved and cherished.

     Super D has a wonderful new home. A very nice couple was looking for a new friend for their 10 year old son. His dog, who had been with him his entire life, had recently died. He was devastated. When the family came to meet 'D', it was love at first sight. The dog ran right into the little boys arms. They visited for about an hour and D kept trying to get into their car. He wanted to go! The whole family is just delighted with their new family member who sleeps every night with his new best friend. Thank you Rescue Me for the wonderful service you provide.

     Thank you, Rescue Me! I was browsing female dogs on Rescue Me, when I saw the sweet tiny face of Missy. She is a long hair Chihuahua and needed a new home. How could I resist? She was very hesitant and nervous, but after a while I took her to the car and brought her home. She was scared and nervous, but we made it home safely. She got along well with our other dogs, but not me or my family. I got her on Monday and she wouldn't warm up until Saturday. She now comes to me and lets me hold her. Unless I am holding her, no one else can pet her yet. Patience is the key to getting her settled into a new home. She is very sweet and loving so I am not one bit sorry for adopting her. Thank you so much for offering your services.

     I spotted 'Mickey' in the middle of traffic while I was walking my Basset Hound, Rex. I knew if I didn't intervene quickly it wouldn't have ended well. I called to him and he immediately followed us home. After letting Rex into the apartment, I called to my wife to come outside, I wanted to show her something. Being an animal lover as well, it didn't take much to convince her we needed to help Mickey. He was nothing but skin and bones, but had a huge loving heart. We brought him in to the house, bathed him, fed him and tried to give him lots of TLC. After having him checked out by the vet, and finding no chip, we searched the neighborhood and Craigslist, other vets, but no one came forward. Living in a small apartment with a dog and two cats already, we knew it would be better if Mickey could have a bigger place to roam and being a Chihuahua we knew he needed to be the alpha male which didn't bode well with Rex. My wife searched the internet for places to post an ad specifically for Chihuahuas. Rescue Me was true to its word. By the next day we were getting calls and emails from people wanting to know more about Mickey. Today, Mickey went home with his new forever family. They have promised to keep us updated on how he's getting along. Thank you Rescue Me!

     ItyBit was small in size, but HUGE in personality. She was found wandering into rush hour traffic. Signs were put up with her picture, an ad was placed with a locating pet service, I went door to door in the neighborhood near where I found her and asked everyone I could in the shopping center near where she was found. No collar, no chip, no anything but about a pound and a half of pure sweet doggie devotion. I have three dogs who have been rescued and now have a permanent home with me. A fourth, even her size, was out of the question. You may know the kind of battle: head and pocket book against heart and desires. I prayed for a good, permanent home for her and a friend suggested posting on Rescue Me. Three days later we were on our way to Arizona from Nevada to meet a couple very interested in her. It was love at first sight. It's kind of strange how a home can feel empty even with it is full of dogs and people, but that's exactly how it felt returning home without her. Fortunately, her new family loves her and sends pictures of her and them together so everyone is happy now. I thank God for Rescue Me and all they do to help animals that fall on unfortunate times. Our world is a better place because of them.

     I have been looking for a young Chihuahua. I came across the Rescue Me website. When I saw PeeWee's photo, I thought, well, he's not a young Chihuahua but an adult. I would constantly go back to his picture, reading about him. I sent an e-mail to Samantha saying I was interested in PeeWee. She e-mailed back and told me all about him, how he was attacked by a large dog and picked up by Animal Control. They contacted the owners and they couldn't afford his medical bills so they surrendered him. He has found his furever home with me! Samantha the foster mom would send me pictures and a video. He likes to wear sweaters- so cute. The home visit was absolutely delightful. I was going to see and hold PeeWee. Since then we have gotten to know each other and that started the first day with the help from the foster mom Samantha. PeeWee is so sweet. Doesn't bark much like Chihuahuas do, but only at another dogs. He sure is special and what a match! Thank you so much for sending me alerts. The day his picture came up was the day I sent my e-mail.

     Little Diego found his perfect forever home thanks to Rescue Me once again. He came from a shelter in Texas for EU dogs, he was in a shelter roomed with another one I was pulling. Diego had been bit by a dog and had a bite mark on his back. He was on bite hold at the shelter, when I pulled a few off the code red list they asked if I would take him too. I could not say no and happy I did not say no, he was a love, so tiny and such a lover boy. He was also fostered in Texas for three weeks till transport since they were EU dogs there. Three were fostered. Thank you Cindi for fostering, Diego could not have found a better home. He is now with loving parents that also have a tiny female. She just wrote me tonight saying they love him. I am so happy that he found his perfect forever home. I am super picky about whom they go to. Thanks Rescue Me! So thankful for this site.

     Words cannot express the love we have for our new family member. I adopted Dottie after Chloe, our beloved Pomeranian passed away (we rescued her from Rescue Me on June 24, 2010, she was 10 years old). No one can replace Chloe, but our family has embraced Dottie and consider her a permanent member of the family. June Smith, the previous owner, is simply WONDERFUL. She allowed us to foster Dottie for a week to make sure she was in her happily ever after with him. How do you thank someone for giving you a 'bundle of love'? Thank you again for putting the love of your pet above your personal wants and needs! That says a lot about a person!

     We were contacted by a woman who is a manager of a vet hospital and has a real love for her animals. We went over to her house to meet her personally and see where Gunny would be residing and got a real surprise. The lady already has two Labradors, one Chihuahua and three cats. I was a little anxious how Gunny would react to these other animals, but it was like he went to heaven. Pals to run and play with, a loving and caring owner, and other animals to teach him the tricks like housebreaking outdoors and coming when called. I think this is the perfect setting for Gunny and the new owner said she would keep in touch via email and send photos. She lives on two acres of fenced yard and has a whole wing devoted to the animals. She also has two children ages nine and eleven who are nuts about Gunny. Thank you, Rescue Me, for having the website to post these animals who are in need of new homes. This has alleviated the anxiousness of handing off my 'baby'. I know she is in good hands.

     My wife found this website through a Facebook feed and decided to take a look. We recently lost a female Chihuahua because of age and wanted to give the chance to another female by doing a rescue. She came across CC's post and immediately made a connection. She forwarded the post to my email, and when I read it, I knew we needed to help her. Although she may have some health issues, this did not discourage us to help her. We have scheduled a visit to the vet this coming Monday to learn more from her frequent water intake and urination (although we have an idea as we already had another dog with these symptoms). Regardless of the prognosis, we will make sure CC gets the quality of life she deserves, the love she need and all the accommodations needed. So far she had transitioned very well into my current fur family and I know she understands the love and affection she will receive. Thank you Rescue Me for giving us the opportunity to rescue a dog in need.

     A couple months ago I took in a poor little senior male Chihuahua named Grady. He wasn't in the best of health. My husband and I rescued him from a hoarding situation. After a few vet trips and two surgeries, we were able to nurse him back to 100%. He is one of the most grateful, loving, affectionate dogs I have ever had the pleasure of loving. However, my baby of the pack (four Chihuahuas not including Grady), Ringo (also the ONLY male) decided that he did not appreciate another male being brought into his home and started constantly mistreating this precious little dog. Nothing vicious just always growling and pushing him, wouldn't let him eat, we couldn't show Grady much attention if Ringo was around or it made things worse. We had to stay on Ringo all the time. In spite, he decided he would start peeing on the little guy (Grady weighs four pounds and Ringo weighs nine pounds). So my husband and I discussed several options of what we could do to stop Ringo's bad behavior and tried them all. Nothing seemed to work and poor little Grady was not being given the quality of life he so deserved. So with a very heavy heart we decided to rehome him. I have never had to do this before because I am usually the forever home. With all my heart, I did not want to let this little guy go. But I know he deserves to be in a home where he can get as much love and attention as he wants, After what he had been through he deserves to be the star of the show. So I placed him on the same site that I found my precious Fancy (Rescue Me) and I sifted through inquiries until I found just the right home for him. It was a widow that just lost her husband in March. She was sad and lonely and wanted a companion. I met with her so she could meet our little guy, and I saw the joy in her eyes. I knew that he had found an even better forever home then I could give him. As she got into her car and drove off with him, tears poured down my face and I began to think about the precious lady that had to do the same thing for my sweet baby Fancy due to having a stroke. I only had Grady for a couple months and it broke my heart to let him go. I cannot imagine how hard it was for her to give up my precious Fancy after raising her from a baby. I want you to know how grateful I am that I found Resue Me and that it worked out for me to get that little girl. She has brought me so much joy. She is so attached to me and I love her so much. I am so thankful for that lady being selfless enough to allow me to have such a precious gift. I know she had to feel exactly as I did when she had to let her go and I hate that terribly for her. But please know that as long as I live she will always be greatly loved and cared for. Since I was 9yrs old when I got my first Chihuahua I have had an undying love for the breed. I don't expect everyone to understand how much I love my dogs and I know it sounds silly to some people, but I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate Rescue Me and that wonderful lady's sacrifice. And even though I never had the pleasure of meeting her because her daughter made the exchange for her due to her health, that I think of her often. I am still in contact with the lady that I adopted Fancy from as well as the lady that gave my precious Lil' Grady a home and he is loving life and getting all the love, hugs, and kisses he so richly deserves. This site has been a blessing to so many animals and people alike. Thank you!

     Thank you, Rescue Me! I was looking for a small rescue dog. They were very expensive to adopt. I kept looking and finally, I found Ami, who was being rehomed by his owners. He looked cute, and I called to contact them. They told me that they were sorry, but they had to take him to the Animal Shelter. I went there, and was able to adopt him. He's a nice little dog, very friendly and smart.

     Bella hit the jackpot with her new family! She will have a brother and sister, and a mom and dad who love her bunches! This family drove six hours to come get this little girl from our rescue.      It was so heartbreaking for me to put my beloved Pip before my own selfishness of wanting to keep him. After all, why should I care if he is alone 18 hours of the day right? Wrong! When you love someone, you have to think of them first. When I found this site, and read the advice they gave, I knew I was on the right track. I was able to chose a family for my sweet little boy who are going to give him everything I hoped to be able to give him. They even promised to send photos to me. Pip will never be alone again. He now has a whole family of humans to love him as well as several animal brothers and sisters. A fenced play area so he can go outside whenever he wants. He has a great vet waiting to add him to the family plan. This site made all of that possible. It makes the heartache so much easier to handle; knowing that because I took the time to use this site I was able to find everything he needed. I don't have to worry. I know he is with people who will love him as much as I do. Rescue Me answered my prayers.
