|Rescue Me ID: 15-04-22-00375Inky & Talulah (male)|
These applehead cuties are seriously taking cute to a whole new level.. Meet Inky and Talulah, our father-daughter duo! Inky (black) is roughly 3 years old, and the most adorable little gentleman you'll ever meet. Him and his daughter, Talulah (brown, 6 months old) found themselves at Dog Town when their previous owner was in a bit over their heads, and couldn't afford their chi habit any longer. They did right by these pups, and contacted us for help. At just about 4 pounds, Inky will hop right into your lap, and loves affection. Talulah is a bit more shy, but doesn't take very long to warm up. She is playful, and will submissive smile at you until she wins your heart. They are incredibly bonded, so we would love to see them go to a home together, but are also willing to split them up if the right homes come along. Even if you can't adopt these 2, you should stop in to meet them. It's a total cute overload! (Less)

Hello, Faithful Rescue Me Followers! My name is Cooper, aka 'Mini' Cooper. I am a three year old, neutered Chihuahua. Right now I live in a foster home and my foster mom is teaching me right from wrong and I totally ADORE her!! She is my rock, my hero, my pack leader. But Mommy, er I mean Miss Janice, knows there is a wonderful home out there for me. She says I am intelligent and enthusiastic and I don't need extensive training. Mommy,(ugh, did it again), Miss Janice, says I have a big personality and I am well behaved around other dogs, cats and even children, provided they are gentle and patient. Will you please help Miss Janice (got it right that time!) find a good home for me by sharing my story? Thank You! 570-333-5265 (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 15-03-27-00264Boi (boy) (male)|
Boi is a 3-4yr old Chihuahua about 7 lbs. I rescued him from an unhealthy abusive home a few months ago. I need to find a home for him ASAP. Im not supposed to have pets where I live though my landlord was understanding about my nusing him back to health but has informed me I e had plenty of time to find him a home. He is crate trained, leash trained and house broken. He has an attachment to his blanket and will growl if someone tries to take it away. He doesn't like getting wet and even after a bath, which he will tolerate, when you attempt to dry him off he growls a lot. I think its his way of complaining as I tell him the whole time to knock it off. He is your genuine lap dog, your shadow. He loves going for car rides. He loves to just be held. We are working on tricks with him right now. He's a bit stubborn when I take him out, he's on a schedule, and I usually have to tell him to go poop. Lol. And when he does he gets a treat. First command is stand up, no jumping which he does a lot when he's excited. Its funny to see. Second is sit. We are working on the lay down command. Because of his attachment to his blanket, he follows the command 'go to your blanket'. He is really and truly a loving dog, he just needs more attention than I can give him. He gets along great with kids but id suggest older children. My 2 yr old torments and teases him to no end. Boi knows not to bite so he with whine or cry when he wants him to stop, but he is very very protective of that same child. If I yell at my son Boi barks at me and tries to stand in front of him. I am not sure if he's ever had his shots, and sadly I honestly cannot afford to get them or have him neutered. He was vet checked when in first brought him home because I honestly didn't think he was going to survive and I was told other than being covered in feces, malnourished and a skin condition, he was in hood health. All of those issues have been taken care of. He was 2 lbs when I got him. He filled out and at a healthy weight now. The skin condition has cleared up with creamy baby oil and a whole lot of fighting since he didn't like it at all. He is a bit picky about the food he's given. He seems particular to either Purina puppy chow or I buy him Purina beneful incredibites. And he loves cheese and fruit which I can't keep my son from feeding him.. My adoption fee is only to cover what I have spent since bringing him home. Boi needs a loving home with someone who can love him and give him lots of attention. He brings with him his bed and blanket, bowl, what food is left, his treats and toys, he loves to play tug of war and fetch with his stuffed deer. He has a moisturizing shampoo that smells good. |Rescue Me ID: 15-03-20-00103Taz (male)|
ARF! ARF! Introducing the amazing and wonderfully-talented comedian canine TAZ! He is a healthy and happy 9-year-old, 9-pound Pomeranian boy that is sure to make any bad day turn to the best just by seeing him. Taz is the sweetest guy you will ever meet and loves his rubs! He will make you laugh by the goofy positions he contorts into just to be near you for some scratches. After a few minutes, he finds his spot and naps with you. Taz just wants a family of his own that will love him forever. The poor boy has been shuffled from home to home and, at one point, was even surrendered to a shelter. We are not sure how anyone could give up such a calm sweet guy. Taz is 95% housebroken; he does occasionally do a nervous squat and dribble if you reach down to pick him up too quickly. This is easily managed by using a belly band. He is not a big barker unless someone comes to the door then he will be your own personal doorbell. Taz does have some hair loss due to a previous flea infestation and may possibly have allergies, but has greatly improved since coming into our care; he should remain on a high-quality, grain-free diet. He needs a home that will love and cherish his comical personality. He is great with other dogs, kids, and people. He is crate trained, walks well on a leash, and is an awesome copilot in the car! If you are interested in adopting Taz, please submit an application at http://PawsitivelyPom.rescuegroups.org. His adoption fee is $250 (reduced to $150 for senior citizens 65 and older), which includes current vaccinations, neuter, microchip, heartworm and fecal tests, a recent dental cleaning, bloodwork, and many skin cultures and biopsies. |Rescue Me ID: 15-03-18-00752Radar (male)|
Radar is a fantastic little man, potty trained and likes to sleep in an open crate, although he is trustworthy enough to be left out in the house while you are gone. Radar LOVES to go on walks and gets excited when he sees you holding a leash. He also loves to ride in the car and will ride happily in a car seat. Radar moves freely, happily gobbles down his kibble. He prefers to sleep on a dog bed on the floor and doesn't like being on the couch. Radar has all the joy for life that a much younger dog would show, although he does suffer from some hearing loss. Poor Radar was dumped at the shelter by the family that he lived with for many years just because he is older. He is looking for a family that can promise him forever and will give him just a bit of time to warm up. When he first came to his foster home he was disconnected and wouldn't look up at people or seek out affection because he was so sad his family left him. Radar has felt love again and is a very happy boy in his foster family now. He seeks out affection, so happy with little head pets and back scratches. Radar wags his tail a lot now. He loves to spend time with his family. If you are looking to add a quiet, easy to care for dog to your family and are able to embrace an older furboy, please reach out and/or submit an application to adopt at http://www.almosthomerescue.org/onlineforms/adoptform.htm (Less)
|Rescue Me ID: 15-02-20-00211CJ (male)|
Little CJ has been us with for around 9 months now with very limited interest from applicants. CJ had a family at one time who became too elderly and decided to surrender him to a shelter which completely turned his world upside down. He turned cage aggressive and was set to be euthanized when our very good friend rescued him. CJ was not properly socialized with humans or animals during his stay with his previously family. In the 9 months he has been here, he has learned to co-exist with the human family members (a husband, wife and two older children) and the various dogs who are permanent members of the house and the animals who come and go as foster dogs. While CJ is better with some dogs versus others - he does have his very own way about him. I consider it a typical chihuahua personality and being stand-offish. His current BFF's are a female Siberian Husky and a female bulldog/pit mix. Homes with very young children should not be considered for CJ because one he plants himself on your lap - he does not like being interrupted by any other person or animal (yes, he will lunge at the intruder). While CJ may take a few to warm up to someone new - once he does he really is THE most loving and loyal dog in the world. He is a bit overweight (my fault - he's very treat motivated) and the bad PA weather has us not walking as much. Once Spring hits and he is able to get out and walk on a daily basis, he will slim back to his 12 LB figure. CJ loves taking walks. He would not be a good candidate for dog parks. If you are looking for a buddy to love you unconditionally and are willing to give a settling in period - please email us for an application at firstname.lastname@example.org If you have other animals and they are dominant, they would not be a match for CJ. While he can exist with other animals, they will have to be very laid back. He wants to be King of the World. He is around 6 years old, neutered, micro chipped and up to date on shots. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 14-12-30-00026Plover (female)|
Plover is a 18 month pureblood female Chihuahua. She's a short haired tri color brown with tan and white. Her ears do not stand up. Plover has been a special case since she was about 6 months old. We raised and treated her the same as all our pups, but she never properly socialized. She is very sweet and loving, and adores both her humans and pack members, but it is on her terms. She DOES NOT LIKE BEING HELD. If she wants to be touched or cuddled she will come to you and let you know. She has many quirks, which I will be happy to discuss with any interested parties. Due to declining health, my husband and I must reduce our pack size. Plover needs a special home and a family with a large, loving, and patient heart. As her temperment is a large factor in her adoptability, I will provide additional information to interested parties. Aside from her social issues, she is healthy and well trained. We are in a fix regarding her, we cannot keep her, but will only be able to give her up to a home that will love, adore, and ACCEPT her as she is. If you think you might be that person, PLEASE contact me by texting first to the number listed. I am happy to go over every last bit of information about her. Thanks for looking! (Less)

Once you earn his trust Charlie is a very loving pup. Charlie is currently in a foster home and has been making wonderful strides with his trust issues. He is now happy and interested to meet new people! He has been getting along great with his foster siblings and likes to be "part of the pack." Charlie is very treat motivated and loves to go for walks. He is a gentlemen on the leash and quite the snuggler in the home. He loves to bury himself in the blankets to stay toasty warm. Charlie is looking for a forever home with a dog savvy family. He would be fine in a home with children 10 and older. Charlie will need a family who can allow him the time to adjust and trust them just as much as his foster family. Charlie is currently in a foster home and not at the shelter. |PIease Read Before Adopting a Chihuahua in Pennsylvania|
Chihuahua Dogs can make good pets in Pennsylvania if they match your IifestyIe. Chihuahuas are high strung, yappy, tiny dogs. Chihuahuas are loyal to the point of possessiveness and obsession with their masters. Chihuahuas are bold, high energy dogs that make wonderful companions for their owners but are suspicious of strangers. Chihuahuas are not well suited to families with children due to the dogs' defensiveness and tendency to snap when provoked. Chihuahuas need to be thoroughly socialized. Despite their small size, Chihuahuas are often aggressive with other dogs. Chihuahuas do fine living in an apartment but need plenty of daily exercise.
