My name is Dolly, and I am a sweet little Chihuahua weighing about 14 pounds, and about 4 years old. I am a social, loving girl that loves my belly rubs. My foster Mom lets me sleep with her...This is my favorite cuddle time....I am a sweet girl, that just wants to be with you. If you adopt me we could keep each other company, and I could go lots of places with you.. I am great with other dogs, and everyone that I meet.. The knees on my back two legs are weak, and I get a little sore on long walks, and may get arthritis in my old age with out surgery.. I was born this way and do well. I have no problem jumping into bed or running outside ... (Read More)with the other dogs to play..I need a family to love and that has time to spend with me, or would love another dog to play with would be fun. My life sure got turned upside down. I came to Oregon on a transport van with lots of other pups that were going to die in a high- kill Shelter in NM. I am so happy here, but need lots more love.....If you might be my forever new family, Please email for an application, and tell us a little about the home you have for me, where you are located, and a phone number would also be nice....I am waiting.... Application, a great home, and my adoption fee of $100 is required. I will come with my collar, leash, micro-chiped, and all the love you can stand. Until we have received your completed application we can not arrange a meeting.... (Less)

Buddy needs a new home. He was my Mom's dog until she passed away last week. Buddy loves to sit on your lap, is a great companion for an older person who is home all the time. Buddy is a bit overweight but we have been working on that. He is very sweet and a bit lost without Mom. Buddy has lived with another dog, but does best as the only dog, he tends to take on the habits of those more dominant.

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed

Sadly I am considering re-homing my 5 yr old Rat Terrier mix Audrey, as she seems to be becoming more and more unhappy in a multi pet home and needs more attention than I am able to provide her. Although she is a bit shy and timid, she is a really good dog. She is house trained and does well off leash. Although she does not love her crate, she will go in it without much fuss. She loves the attention that she gets from kids but older kids are best as the unpredictability of little ones can be quite scary for her.

This adorable guy is SO sweet! When we got him he was very underweight, but he has since gained weight and is very healthy. He has long cream colored fur. He is fixed, and has his rabies shot. We didn't know if had his vaccinations, so we have given him his first two sets. He does well with our two other dogs, and is wonderful with OUR children (7,9,12). He takes a while to warm up to strangers, but the more time we have him the better he does. He does very well in a kennel and is learning to walk on a leash. He is potty trained and has been accident free for a while. He needs a quiet home with someone who loves a snuggle bug. He needs ... (Read More)someone who is firm. No young children please. PIease Read Before Adopting a Chihuahua in Oregon
Chihuahua Dogs can make good pets in Oregon if they match your IifestyIe. Chihuahuas are high strung, yappy, tiny dogs. Chihuahuas are loyal to the point of possessiveness and obsession with their masters. Chihuahuas are bold, high energy dogs that make wonderful companions for their owners but are suspicious of strangers. Chihuahuas are not well suited to families with children due to the dogs' defensiveness and tendency to snap when provoked. Chihuahuas need to be thoroughly socialized. Despite their small size, Chihuahuas are often aggressive with other dogs. Chihuahuas do fine living in an apartment but need plenty of daily exercise.

Some Chihuahuas are so small they can stand upright in a person's hand. Chihuahuas were the oldest breed on the North American continent. Though associated with Mexico, Chihuahuas have origins in China. Chihuahuas were sacred animals to pre-Columbian Native Americans.
