A neighbor got very mad and confronted the man kicking and hitting her.. A different neighbor went and talked with the ... (Read More)family and they surrendered her to the rescue. 'She was too difficult to train'. Once we got her to the rescue we realized she was deaf. Temperament- Super sweet, playful, and very loving. Energy Level- Average energy level for a puppy Dogs/Cats- She is doing wonderful with all the other dogs on the property and has done great with the cats. House trained- She is using puppy pads Please be aware puppies are a lot of work - they need a lot of training and socialization to grow into well behaved adult members of the family. As puppies they will sometimes mouth/bite and scratch in play. Children should be taught how to be gentle with all animals and to understand that puppies aren't trying to be mean but might accidentally scratch or bite them. If you have a sensitive child/children and wanting to get a pet for them maybe consider an adult that has been around children- they are a lot less work as well. Otherwise there might be a lot of tears and nonsense when the child doesn't understand why the puppy scratched or nipped them. So please be fully aware and do your research if you are considering a puppy. Adoption fee $250 includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations (4 for puppies), deworming, microchip, rabies, collar and leash, training information, and all the support you need.     Meet cute Silver!! He is a friendly little fella. He is curious about things. He likes to follow you around the house. He is always happy to welcome you home. He loves to cuddle under blankets. He is a low energy boy and would do well in a quiet home. He doesn't really play. He would make an excellent companion dog. He is good with dogs and enjoys their company. He probably would be fine with cats as he is not really interested in the stray cats that hang out around his foster mom's apartment. His owner died and the family couldn't take any of the dogs. The dogs were left not in the best of shape. They needed dentals and groomed. They are ... (Read More)all fixed up now and looking for their new homes. Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Jr is about 6 years old. He is a Chihuahua mix. He can be a little nervous at first meeting new people but once he warms up he loves to cuddle and play. He seems to be nervous around children and some men (but he loves the foster mom's son and cuddles with him). He is good with female dogs and other males but does try to dominate some dogs-he can be rather possessive at times. He is crated when no one is at home and at night but would love to have company and cuddle all day and night. He does not seem overly interested in cats. He is housebroken. He loves to go on walks. He doesn't bark and would make a great apartment dog. Jr has been ... (Read More)looking for a long time for his furever home won't you consider him? PIease Read Before Adopting a Chihuahua in New Mexico
Chihuahua Dogs can make good pets in New Mexico if they match your IifestyIe. Chihuahuas are high strung, yappy, tiny dogs. Chihuahuas are loyal to the point of possessiveness and obsession with their masters. Chihuahuas are bold, high energy dogs that make wonderful companions for their owners but are suspicious of strangers. Chihuahuas are not well suited to families with children due to the dogs' defensiveness and tendency to snap when provoked. Chihuahuas need to be thoroughly socialized. Despite their small size, Chihuahuas are often aggressive with other dogs. Chihuahuas do fine living in an apartment but need plenty of daily exercise.
