Twinkles came to us about a year ago. We thought she had been hit by a car, but that was not the issue. She has a birth defect. One of her back legs is malformed and can't be fixed surgically. This does not seem to bother her. She gets around well, playing with the bigger dogs on our farm. Call for further information, or to make an appointment to come see this special little girl.

History- An owner turned them over to a rural shelter when they were only about 3 weeks old. A lady who works closely with the shelter took them home to make sure they got the nourishment they needed and to keep them from being exposed to any illnesses at the ... (Read More)shelter since they were too young to be vaccinated. She then sent a plea out to rescue for them- we took 4 of the babies and another rescue took 3.. They are super cute!!! The brother of Midori - is actualloy Radar the little white and black pup Steve Stucker recently adopted and you see on the news-- just to get an idea of how big she is.. Temperament- She is a clown once she feels safe and comfortable with you.. She is a one owner dog though and will follow her loved one everywhere.. However she was raised in the country so is pretty shy around strangers.. So she is shy and does't show real well but once she gets to know someone she is the funniest little girl ever.. Energy Level- Typical high level puppy energy. Dogs/Cats- Great with all the other dogs and cats-- raised with both.. Housetrained- Using a dog door.. Midori has grown into a darling little girl. She is so loving and full of life. I am amazed she is still available as she is just such a sweet, playful girl. Her only major issue is that she is very shy so shows poorly around strangers.. Overall she is well behaved, doesn't chew up the house, and loves everyone in the family especially my granddaughter who is 4 years old.. She would make a great addition to any family wanting a sweet beautiful girl to make them laugh.. She is the type to run by and steal whatever is in your hand just to get your attention and initiate play... But initially she is so so painfully shy and nobody really wants a shy dog-- everyone wants a dog who loves them immediately and that's just not her.. You have to work for her love initially and then she is your love for life.. She is also qite the hoarder of shoes-- she doesn't ruin them though she just puts them all in her bed with her.. Anyone who gives her the time an love she needs will have the best girl for life.. Adoption fee $200 includes spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations (4 for puppies), deworming, microchip, rabies vacc, collar and tags, training information, and all the support you need. Animal ID: 15-316Fancy (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This is a 10 yr old dog that neither looks nor acts like a 10 yr. old. She's taller than a Chihuahua so the mix is probably some kind of small Terrier breed. She's a calm, gentle, yet active dog. She enjoys company and does very well with other dogs. This kind of dog usually gets adopted right away, but her age makes some folks hesitant. In Fancy's case it shouldn't matter. These small mixed breeds are almost always the ones to live into their 20's, and are wonderful to have around younger dogs. They provide leadership and discipline to pups. She's a pretty and healthy dog. All of our animals are fully vet checked which includes all ... (Read More)shots, heartworm testing, spay/neuter, and micro chipped. Families are welcome to take our dogs home for a trial period. (Less)

This is a good looking boy. He's inclined to be standoffish until he realizes your friendly..treats work well, then lots of luck keeping him out of your lap. He does well on a leash, but he loves to be carried. Someone spoiled him somewhere along the line, but in a good way. His temperament is really quite good for his breed. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Joey was rescued from the Roswell Animal Shelter at the last minute. He is around 3-4 years old. He is quiet and sweet. Housetrained, good with dogs, cats, and kids. It has taken Joey a long time to learn that people aren't all that bad, but he is still a little nervous around new people. He doesn't have an aggressive bone is his body, but he does need someone who will be patient and slow with him. He is playful but also very calm...and once you have his trust, he will never leave your side! We are not sure what all he is a mix of. He is taller than a chihuahua. We are trying to figure out where those spots come from. Chinese Crested ... (Read More)Dogs have these spots and Italian Greyhounds also have spots but to a lesser degree. He also doesn't have any hair on his chest it is absolutely smooth. And either chihuahua or rat terrier mixed in with this. Contact Trish at 505-907-3791 or email pacatrish@yahoo.com (Less)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Puppy

Meet Olive. She is like a chihuahua on stilts. She weighs around 15 lbs. She is about a year old (as of 7/15). She's shy but very sweet. She attaches to her human quickly once she gets over her shyness, she will follow you around and likes to snuggle at your feet. She is, though, very scared of firecrackers. She's a perfect child! Olive was found at a gas station in Shiprock, NM, along with Athena and Turbo. They were in pretty pitiful shape.     Honey is a long legged Chihuahua. She is three years old, very affectionate, sweet, and loving. She makes a great lap dog. She weighs 8-9 lbs. She is shy at first but warms up quickly. She would be fine as an only dog. She is also good with dogs but would do better with larger dogs as she tries to be in charge of little ones and get all the attention to herself. She gets very excited when her owners come home, and tries to jump on top of them. She does use the doggie door--needs a little bit of coaxing at first.
