Rescue Me ID: 14-03-01-00245Lila (female)
I have been fostering Lila for two years. Her original owner bought her from a pet store, and did not socialize her during her first year of life so she was very fearful. I was told that she didn't like children or males, but she loves my fiancee and adores his 8-year daughter. She does take time to warm up to people, and still has some fear issues. She is trained to use wee-wee pads, but will also go outside (if it's not too cold out LOL). She can walk on a leash and knows basic commands. She is only 6 pounds and would love to be a pampered lap dog.

Animal ID: 121714ty (male)
We had ty since he was a puppy he is 13 or 14 years old now, he is a fearful and anxious dog. He has always been good to my huband and I. After we had childeren he became even more anxious. Ty does not like strangers if someone enters our house unannounced he has at a history of nipping. He does not bark really just likes to lay around. Over all he is a good quite dog that has a female friend in our home nina (she is a min pin/boston terrier mix) We are hoping to have them adopted out together. Nina is about 6 or 7. she is a high enery dog who likes to run and jump around but with Ty they make a good couple. Nina is also a fearful/anxious dog who also has a history of nipping strangers. Long story short we now have twin boys which the 2 dogs do not like. They were used to being able to run free and get into anything they wanted. Now with our boys getting bigger it is has become harder to keep them and the dogs seperated which inturn has lead to longer times of the dogs not spending time with us. We are sad to be having to adopt out our first and second dogs that we have had both since they were puppies, but we feel it is time for them to go to a home where they can be more free to be the dogs they can be. These dogs are not good with kids. They are very loyal to my husband and I. We are just looking for a good home for them. If you are intersted I can send you pictures of them. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-02-15-00117Marty (male)
Marty has loved 2 families who each lost their homes. He weighs about 8 pounds if that and is full grown. He is playful and sometimes naughty-(sometimes he jumps on the table) but housebroken and in love with his humans. He is capable of staying by himself during the day. He does not like to share his humans- but he does play and enjoy other dogs. Wary with cats- but not aggressive.

Rescue Me ID: 14-02-11-00197DIEGO (male)
Hi, I'm Diego (don't much like that name but you can change it.....please!). I'm still a pup, born 3/1/13. and I'm very playful, lovable and full of puppy energy. I love to be held and loved and also love to play. I'm neutered (ouch!). fully grown at 15 lbs, small but solid, microchipped, and fully vetted, HOUSEBROKEN, I love kids, and I'm not yappy. My foster mom says I'm a sweet playful dog, but I can also be calm and sit by your side while you watch TV. I love attention (who doesn't?) and I want your love and to love you in return. I ride well in a car, give kisses, and love playing with children. What more could you ask for? I'll be your best friend. I'm being fostered in Pennington, NJ.where I play tug with the tiny 5 lb yorkie there, and I'm gentle with him. If you think you would like my love, play and kisses, and maybe have another dog to play with me or maybe children, I'm only $225 for a puppy with all of my vetting done (so I'm basically free....yikes!). Please go to our website www.sosdogs.org for the online application.......(p) (Less)

Animal ID: 001Boots (female)
Boots is a wonderful little girl! She loves to be held and cuddled and loves to play. Although she is approx 10 years old don't let her fool you she can be as rambunctious at a puppy! She can get a little bossy if someone is not paying enough attention to her and she wants to be loved or cuddled! She came from a hoarding house in the south which was holding 130 dogs. She lived in a kennel for many years and is very happy to be free! Although she is enjoying life in her foster home she can't wait to go to her forever home!

Extremely sweet dog. Moving mid February and cannot take her. I do not want to send her to a shelter as the only local shelters are kill shelters. She is great with my children and cat.

Animal ID: 14-01-12-00461Sasha (female)
Sasha is an energetic girl. A bit bossy. We are looking for a rescue or experienced person with chihuahua to take her. Our rescue took her from a kill shelter hoping to find a rescue more experienced with Chihuahua's to take her and find her a forever home. She gets along well with other dogs. She is good with adults but can be sassy when it comes to her toys crate etc. We have not had her with Children. If there is a rescue that can help with her that would be great. She is house broke and crate trained. does well on leash.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Chihuahua in New Jersey
Chihuahua Dogs can make good pets in New Jersey if they match your IifestyIe. Chihuahuas are high strung, yappy, tiny dogs. Chihuahuas are loyal to the point of possessiveness and obsession with their masters. Chihuahuas are bold, high energy dogs that make wonderful companions for their owners but are suspicious of strangers. Chihuahuas are not well suited to families with children due to the dogs' defensiveness and tendency to snap when provoked. Chihuahuas need to be thoroughly socialized. Despite their small size, Chihuahuas are often aggressive with other dogs. Chihuahuas do fine living in an apartment but need plenty of daily exercise.
