Hi y'all! Im a small, young southern gal Lousianna. Estimations are I'm about 1-2 yrs old. The nice people in Omaha rescued me from a very over crowded shelter. I have been staying in a wonderful foster home in Omaha being a very good girl. They say I am very sweet. I stay in my kennel quietly all day while my foster family is at work. I am not a noisy dog. At night when they get home I LOVE to play with my toys, tug of war, and run around the back yard. Im a chewer so make sure I have good things to chew on so I don't get your shoes! Im very energetic and LOVE to be outside so my ideal forever home would have a fenced in yard. Ive been doing a great job going potty outside, not had one accident! Watching bunnies and squirrels and chasing them is great fun for me. I have not been around cats at all so not sure about those creatures. But I have been around kids and I love them! I also love other dogs. Weighing in at only 10 lbs, I love to cuddle when it's bed time. I have been spayed , am up to date on all my shots and am heartworm negative. Do you have a place in your home for a small, spunky little gal like me?? If you are interested in Mae, please fill out an adoption application at www.bassetandbeagle.org (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-02-18-00320Heidi (female)
Heidi is a petite 8 year old red chiweenie. She's so happy that she has retired from the breeding industry! She hasn't had an easy life and her little body shows it, but Heidi is on her way to a new happy, healthy life. Heidi is timid but is learning to trust people. She likes to snuggle, get attention, give kisses (but watch out, she's a little French in the kissing department!) and she loves to burrow under the covers and cuddle with you at night. She gets along with other small dogs, is figuring out potty training and does well in the kennel during the day when her foster parents are at work. Heidi will need a home with a securely fenced yard and a canine companion to keep her company. Check back as Heidi settles into her foster home and makes progress on her journey to good health. Suggested adoption donation for Heidi is $200 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs. Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts only to people living in states neighboringNebraska and requires the adopter to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not transport or fly our rescue dogs. A securely fenced yard is necessary to adopt one of our terriers. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment for terriers.Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-10-17-00395Scout (female)
Incredibly sweet, loving, smart, and protective. She knows how to sit and 'go lay down' (where she goes and lays down on her dog bed or in her crate) but would readily learn other commands/tricks with the right teacher. --- Her fearful behaviors require knowledgeable training in order to correct. She needs a quiet home and an owner with lots of patience. A big yard would be a plus -- she loves to run and explore.

Rescue Me ID: 16-08-08-00328Coco (female)
Coco weighs 7 pounds and is a 5 year old female long hair chihuahua that has spent the first 5 years of her life in one of the 'horrible 100' puppy mills in Missouri. Due to the poor conditions she was living in, Coco had to be shaved upon her release as she was extremely matted. She is learning that humans can be kind and good. Coco enjoys other dogs and also gets along well with the cats in her foster home. She enjoys napping next to a furry friend and loves dinner time. She is still learning to go potty outside and walk on a leash, and needs a fenced yard to allow her to continue with this training and explore her world in safety. Since she often takes the lead from other dogs' behavior, she would do best with another confident dog to 'show her the ropes'. Coco is a nervous girl who startles at sudden movements. Her ideal family would be a home with calm, patient humans who are willing to allow her to progress toward confidence at her own pace. With time and lots of love and patience, Coco will blossom into the happy, self-assured little girl she was meant to be. Coco is spayed, current on vaccinations and microchipped. Suggested adoption fee for Coco is $250.00. If you are interested in meeting her complete an application from our website at www.revolutionrescue.com and we will be in touch! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Chihuahua in Nebraska
Chihuahua Dogs can make good pets in Nebraska if they match your IifestyIe. Chihuahuas are high strung, yappy, tiny dogs. Chihuahuas are loyal to the point of possessiveness and obsession with their masters. Chihuahuas are bold, high energy dogs that make wonderful companions for their owners but are suspicious of strangers. Chihuahuas are not well suited to families with children due to the dogs' defensiveness and tendency to snap when provoked. Chihuahuas need to be thoroughly socialized. Despite their small size, Chihuahuas are often aggressive with other dogs. Chihuahuas do fine living in an apartment but need plenty of daily exercise.
