Very sweet 8 yr old black chihuahua with a little grey around the whiskers and chin. Sadly can not keep as husband has allergys. He will do well in a home of moderate energy, calm and quiet. Loves to walk and play ball. He is a very typical chihuahua, does not liked to be pulled on or tugged but loves petting and sitting on your lap. He does ok in the car especially if the window is left open, other wise can get a little anxious. He has to be reminded to use his pee pad in the winter. Is very good around the house if he has a morning and evening walk.

|Rescue Me ID: 14-09-02-00388Milo and Otis (male)|
Our names are Milo and Otis. We were surrendered by our owner at just 4 weeks old. We were only 10 ounces when we arrived. Our foster mommies said we were sick little pumpkins. We are now full grown and weigh only 3-4 pounds. Because we did not get to nurse with our mom (the breeder took us away from her as she thought we would be better puppies), and we were so sick, it takes us a little longer to catch onto things. We are still working on potty training. We are bonded, so need a home where we can be together. We love to play and give kisses. We would prefer a home with no children under the age of 10 years because we are small and afraid. We would prefer if someone were home with us a great deal of the time. We love to play and bark, so apartment life would not be a good fit for us. To meet us, please call Lori at 952-221-2077. Age: 2 years old Special Needs This is through a rescue organization. An adoption fee will apply and an application will be required. The adoption fee covers a portion of neutering, tests, shots, and other care. (Less)

|Rescue Me ID: 14-05-16-00334Gypsie (female)|
Gypsie likes go for short walks and take naps on the couch and on her own in her kennel. She DOES NOT SLEEP IN BED WITH OWNER. Although she has been around kids since the kids were babies, this breed naturally stay away from small children, as they are little. Would prefer someone who is done having kids, maybe someone who is retired or semi-retired and is a homebody. She is not around other dogs due to her size, and is potty trained indoors and outdoors. She had bad reactions to immunizations so did not continue after the first time, but she is a very healthy dog. She also had a rod put in her leg, as it is a common problem in chihuahua's as well. Does bark, but only during situations other dogs bark at as well, like a knock at the door, visitors or strange noises. once she meets the visitor, she goes about her business. She is actually quite friendly and social and loves meeting new people. She will need a laid back household with not much action. She does not do stairs, not because she has problems, but to prevent them. She needs someone who will have a plan with a friend or family member to take care of her when they need to be away for extended periods of time (overnight) for she does not have most shots that a pet hotel would require, besides the fact that most hotels have all dogs interact and she would not be used to that, and frankly not safe. The new owner would have to have a plan for any future medical issues that may occur or if their lives called for re-homing again. Please e-mail if interested with WHY she would be a good fit with your family. Thanks! (Less)

Chihuahua Dogs can make good pets in Minnesota if they match your IifestyIe. Chihuahuas are high strung, yappy, tiny dogs. Chihuahuas are loyal to the point of possessiveness and obsession with their masters. Chihuahuas are bold, high energy dogs that make wonderful companions for their owners but are suspicious of strangers. Chihuahuas are not well suited to families with children due to the dogs' defensiveness and tendency to snap when provoked. Chihuahuas need to be thoroughly socialized. Despite their small size, Chihuahuas are often aggressive with other dogs. Chihuahuas do fine living in an apartment but need plenty of daily exercise.
