Animal ID: 1743Max (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Handsome young Max is an 8-lb. Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix who was born in June of 2015. This funny little guy loves to play gentle games of tug and tumble with his humans, enjoys cuddling and tummy rubs, and is a good snuggle companion. Once outside, however, Max is all terrier - ready to hunt and play and investigate all things that need investigating. He is very good about his potty training in his foster home, but as with any young dog he does need to go out often and be reminded that it isn't always play time outside! Max gets along well with the other small dogs at his foster home but he does like his personal space. He ignores the cats ... (Read More)that he lives with, but he dearly wants to chase the chickens who live outside in their coop. Max is a fun, sweet young fellow who unfortunately suffered an injury early in his life. He favors his back leg and lifts it at times when he runs. But Max doesn't let anything get in the way of having a fun time, and he absolutely loves to play. He'd do best with a home that has at least one other dog for him to play and cuddle with, and possibly also children who are very savvy about how to treat small dogs properly. You can see more photos of Max at: http://imageevent.com/newrattitude/max. ========================================================================================If you are interested in adopting Max, please go to New Rattitude's website at http://www.NewRattitude.org/adopt.htm, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application. Animal ID: 1742Emma (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Adorable Emma is a tiny 5-lb. Rat Terrier-Chihuahua mix who was born in June of 2015. This sweet cuddle bug absolutely loves humans and enjoys giving wiggly snuggles and lots of face kisses with her lightning fast tongue. Even though Emma is still a young dog, she has had zero potty accidents in her foster home, but she does need to be taken out often and reminded to go potty (sometimes she gets too busy playing!). She is not a big fan of inclement weather so she does need extra encouragement on rainy or snowy days. Emma gets along well with the other small dogs in her foster home and ignores the two cats, who are much larger then she is. ... (Read More)She's very interested in the chicken coop and its residents, and would love to chase those birds if only she were allowed to. In nice weather, she likes to be outside. In fact, sometimes she gets so busy and focused on exploring and playing that she forgets to come in when she is called. But she is very fond of puppy treats and baby talk so she runs right to her foster mom when those 'tools' are brought out. Emma is very fond of her brother and would probably do best in a home that has another friendly small dog for her to bond with. But since she loves humans she would also be okay as an only dog in a home where she could be taken along to work and play with people all day. Keep in mind that, at just 5 lbs., she is pocket-sized, so this really is an option! Because Emma is so tiny and finely boned, she could get hurt if she were accidentally mishandled, so any children in her adoptive home need to be old enough and responsible enough to understand how to handle a tiny dog carefully. This little lovebug brings a smile to every face that meets her. If you are looking for a pocket full of puppy wiggles, she might be the right fit for you! See more photos of Emma at: http://imageevent.com/newrattitude/emma .=======================================================================================If you are interested in adopting Emma, please go to New Rattitude's website at http://www.NewRattitude.org/adopt.htm, where there is detailed information and a link to our adoption application. Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive

Luke was a severely neglected Chihuahua when surrendered to Al-Van at age 15 a few months ago and recently transferred to BestPals in April 2016. Now that he has gained some more weight Luke is active, friendly, and outgoing. He is friendly with other dogs and crate-trained. He currently eats small bites senior food (about %BD cup) twice daily mixed with wet food to make it softer because of his lack of teeth. Good with cats and enjoys being held. Vaccinations, heartworm testing and microchip being done after blood work testing. Evaluating for neutering also. Do you have room for this little guy?

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

Fynn is a fun little guy with lots of energy. He's not really Boston Terrier or Chihuahua, but I had to call him something :) It would be interesting to see DNA results on him. He is house trained, gets along with cats, dogs, and kids. He will greatly benefit from a fenced in yard to run in and another dog to play with. We are fostering him after a failed adoption from the local shelter. He needed some time to decompress after a rough past, but has made leaps and bounds and just needs some love and training to become the dog he was meant to be!

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] Well tempered pure bred Chihuahua. Had her since she was a puppy. She is conditionally house broken, meaning she has 1 set of rules when you are present and another set of rules when you are away. She is very socialized for a chihuahua, she loves kids and women instantly. It takes her a awhile to warm up to men. She is good with other dogs but tends to be dominant. She has some minor joint issues but that does not effect her quality of life. She was diagnosed with seizures a year ago and she has been fine and seizure free on her midication - 1/2 tab ' per day. Phenobarbital. She cuddles when she wants but very ... (Read More)iffy about that. She has more of a cat personality, such as..stay outta my face unless I want you there, or not a big licker, she's give you a kiss and then she's over it. Used to be a big cuddler but not as much as she used to be. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-02-14-00495Chewy & Brownie (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

My parents who live in Livonia have 2 mother/daughter chihuahuas that need to be relocated to a furever home. While they do love the chihuahuas, they are not capable of caring for the chihuahuas to give them a healthy nor fulfilling life. The two chihuahuas are a bonded unbreakable pair as one is the mother named Chewy, and a daughter named Brownie. Chewy is a 9-year-old 8-lb pure bred chihuahua, tri-colored black/white/brown. Brownie is a 8-year-old 15-lb chihuahua mix with the same coloring as its mother. They are very sweet and cuddly. From my observation, the chihuahuas need to be rehabilitated before they can be considered adoptable. ... (Read More)They have been living indoors with each other and don't have a lot of outside interactions with strangers or other dogs. They bark and become very defensive when anyone new comes into the house. Both dogs immediately bark at any stranger/dog on walks as well. Also, when they are at home alone during the day, they intermittently bark at any noise they hear near the house. Clearly, they need someone who can give them a lot of attention and can train them to trust humans and not be so anxious all the time. They might nip at aggressive strangers, but no real damage has ever been done. While they will calm down after the new person is around, it's not quiet for some time. With any new dog, I am not sure when they ever put their guard down. I believe they need lots of socialization and comfort. They know how to use the bathroom outside and on the pee pad indoors, but I wouldn't trust they always go on the pee pad indoors. Brownie will definitely poop outside (if walked), but Chewy seems to only defecate indoors. I think if they had a structured schedule for walks/potty breaks, that they can learn to go outside. On the bright side, they love warm and cuddly places like inside blankets or on couches. They will never want to leave your side or off your lap! They are very sweet to each other and travel as a pack. Brownie has a very submissive personality as once she is familiar with you, she'll just flip over to her belly for some rubs. But, Chewy takes a lot of time for her to get comfortable with you. They are in need of some real love and routine schedules. My parents are at work 12+ hours a day at least 6 days a week. Also, now they are getting old and are just not able to give these chihuahuas the care they extremely need. We can't bear to give them an animal shelter, so we are desperately looking for a rescue who can rehabilitate them (with appropriate fosters) and then find them their furever home and be truly happy. If we had any preference, we are looking for an experienced dog owner who doesn't have other dogs/cats. They must be home a lot, preferably someone who is retired or works from home because they really crave human interaction with their human. They are good for someone who loves cuddle parties and leisure walks outside. Since they are small, they do not require runs outside but do love walks outside. We would prefer someone with a backyard, so they can potty and get fresh air. We need someone who wants to have adorable fur babies to love and cherish furever and ever. They will certainly love you back and become your shadow (because they will follow you around). They are up to date on their medical needs/records, they have been going to Pets Smart banfield and are updated on all of their shots. We can include all of their collars, leashes, clothing items, and bowls (basically all of their belongings). Please advise what appropriate information we need regarding how to begin the steps to finding them the rehabilitation and home they need. We appreciate any information or reference. Thank you. PIease Read Before Adopting a Chihuahua in Michigan
Chihuahua Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. Chihuahuas are high strung, yappy, tiny dogs. Chihuahuas are loyal to the point of possessiveness and obsession with their masters. Chihuahuas are bold, high energy dogs that make wonderful companions for their owners but are suspicious of strangers. Chihuahuas are not well suited to families with children due to the dogs' defensiveness and tendency to snap when provoked. Chihuahuas need to be thoroughly socialized. Despite their small size, Chihuahuas are often aggressive with other dogs. Chihuahuas do fine living in an apartment but need plenty of daily exercise.
