Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Aren't I adorable? My Mom has to move into assisted living and I can't go with her. I'm a sweet little boy, I am trained to go potty on a pad, but if you would take me out more, I could learn to go outside. My Mama could not go out with me. I'm a little timid when I first meet a new person, but watch out, when I get to know you, I want lots of attention. I want to sit on your lap as much as you will let me. When I get excited, I run to my dish and grab, just one piece of food, then I take it to my bed and 'eat it up' Am I darling, or what? I like to steal your blanket, so I can get under it with you. I have all my shots. heart worm tested, ... (Read More)neutered etc. e-mail soon so you can visit me, please! (Less)

Chihuahua    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Female Dogs Only, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Tank is a wonderful little boy. He is a lap dog to the core. He sleeps under the blankets, loves to be loved. He loves to follow behind his favorite person. His current living situation has changed since human babies were brought into the pack. He has since struggled with adjusting. He needs a home that is willing to take the time to refresh his training; patience is a must! He is good with mild mannered children who can be gentle with small animals. He is good with adults and loves cats. Tank does best with small female dogs but will adjust to others given time. It would be most beneficial for him to be in a home with someone who can be ... (Read More)there to spend time with him that has at least one other small dog for him to befriend. He has had a dog companion all his life and living otherwise, we are afraid, would be too much of a change. He has had the same owner since a puppy and this a very hard decision for his family to make. He will ONLY be released to a family that is a perfect fit. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-03-04-00063Pete (male)

Chihuahua

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs Vaccinations, Obese,
 Incontinent

[Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Pete is a quite loving dog. He loves affection and would be good with someone who is home often. He came to us as a rescue dog so I don't know a lot about his past. He is somewhat overweight but has been dieting recently and has dropped 3 pounds and become more active. Pete also has started urinating in the house therefore I must find a home for him in order to keep the peace in my home. I think that it would be a non issue if we were not a working family. That is why I feel someone who is home most of the time would not have an issue with this.

I have two beautiful lovable chihuahua's I have had Chico for 6 years and Bella for 7 years! They have both been fixed. Chico has also had throat surgery so he does not have much of a bark. Bella is very laid back & self On my way! Barks. I just do not have the time I used to and they are crated a lot t this time because we are not home. We have two daughters whom the dogs are wonderful with ( they've grown up together) I stayed at home before the girls were in school, now they are both in school and very active in all kinds of extra circular activities that keep us away from home often. While we sleep they are crated, while we're not home ... (Read More)they are crated. They are both house broken for the most part. They love being out side in the summer & will go out in the winter to go potty! They'd be lost with out each other so I am asking they be kept together! They would be lovey for a retired couple or a single woman, they love attention, going for car rides, and being pampered! I look forward to meeting you and introducing you to Chico & Bella ! (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Chihuahua in Michigan
Chihuahua Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. Chihuahuas are high strung, yappy, tiny dogs. Chihuahuas are loyal to the point of possessiveness and obsession with their masters. Chihuahuas are bold, high energy dogs that make wonderful companions for their owners but are suspicious of strangers. Chihuahuas are not well suited to families with children due to the dogs' defensiveness and tendency to snap when provoked. Chihuahuas need to be thoroughly socialized. Despite their small size, Chihuahuas are often aggressive with other dogs. Chihuahuas do fine living in an apartment but need plenty of daily exercise.
