Rescue Me ID: 15-03-30-00143Ki-Yu (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Puppy

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I am rehoming beautiful Shih-Tzu/chi/poodle mix named Ki-Yu. He is 6 months old. He is being crate trained and sleeps in his crate at night. Ki-Yu is potty training but will not tell you that he has to go outside yet and has some behavioral and socialization issues which need immediate attention. He has had his shots and rabies and will probably be due soon for update. Ki-Yu needs professional training, he will need to go to a good home with an experienced dog trainer or persons who are patient because he is a nipper and if scared he will try to bite. It will take some time for him to warm up to new people.

Rescue Me ID: 15-02-01-00316Odie (male)

Chihuahua    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Odie has had a bit of a tough time finding his forever home. I have fostered Odie 3 times now. Odie needs attention...plain and simple. He is fine with most dogs. He seems to be jealous of non fixed male dogs. He is ok with one dog, but two or more and he gets uneasy. He just needs to be loved. I am requiring a contract with his adoption. He will need to be neutered within 30 days if he is not neutered before he is adopted. And I would like a vet reference so I know he will be taken care of. He comes with toys, food, treats, sweater, harness, leash, dog dish. He is crate trained. Loves it as long as it is like a sanctuary for him. His ... (Read More)previous owners said he had issues with house training. I've never had issues with him going in my house. He always goes to the door when he wants out. He is very calm and just loves to cuddle. I need to find his furrever home ASAP. I am very allergic to him. And I keep getting very sick. I refuse to let him keep going from home to home. He needs stability. I know there is a human for him out there. A nice older couple would be great for him or someone who can be home most of the time. He really deserves his forever home. His birthday is October 14th. He weighs about 10-12lbs if that. He is currently in my home. Please contact me if you are interested in providing Odie with his forever home. (Less)

Chihuahua    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet our little darling, Mariah! Weighing in at a dedlicate 8 pounds, this 5 year old sweetheart of a chihuahua has a lot to offer. She has a great temperament and gets along well with the other dogs at the rescue. Mariah is sure to win you over with one flash of that toothy smile of hers! Because of Chihuahuas delicate nature we do not adopt them to children under the age of 6, so Mariah will do best in a home with no small children, but would not mind a canine companion and family of her very own to spend the rest of her days with. If you would like to meet Mariah please take a moment to fill out an application first by going to ... (Read More)www.mosseyhollow.com and send it back to us. Visits are by appointment only and Mariah is waiting! **PLEASE NOTE WE ARE A VOLUNTEER BASED RESCUE AND IT MAKE TAKE 24-72 HOURS FOR US TO RESPOND TO ALL INQUIRIES** An application must be complete prior to visiting with any of our adoptable animals. This is to ensure a good fit for both your family and the animal. Our applications can be found at www.mosseyhollow.com. (Less)

Daisy is looking for a new home because my Mom is moving in to a senior community:( She is 6, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated. She is deaf and my dogs make her very nervous. She would prefer to be the only dog or have one bigger understanding dog sibling. She is about 17 pounds. She would love a person or family that is home a lot and will let her sleep on your lap. She comes with all of her stuff. If it is not the right fit we would want her back. Would like you to give her a week or two to adjust. She is a very sweet girl. Knows signs.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Chihuahua in Michigan
Chihuahua Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. Chihuahuas are high strung, yappy, tiny dogs. Chihuahuas are loyal to the point of possessiveness and obsession with their masters. Chihuahuas are bold, high energy dogs that make wonderful companions for their owners but are suspicious of strangers. Chihuahuas are not well suited to families with children due to the dogs' defensiveness and tendency to snap when provoked. Chihuahuas need to be thoroughly socialized. Despite their small size, Chihuahuas are often aggressive with other dogs. Chihuahuas do fine living in an apartment but need plenty of daily exercise.
