Chihuahua    Age: Puppy

Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Guido is a sweet 10 month old purebred chihuahua who is quite handsome. He's a loving fellow who will sit pretty and do a little dance for a tasty treat. He loves other dogs. Guido is a quiet boy and is very polite. Guido will need to be introduced to new people respectfully and slowly as he is unsure at first, so he would prefer a home with no small children. Take a look at his video to see more about him. PLEASE CALL OR EMAIL THE SHELTER IF YOU ARE DRIVING A LONG DISTANCE TO SEE A SPECIFIC ANIMAL, AS THE ADOPTION STATUS CAN CHANGE AT ANY TIME. Rescue Me ID: 15-02-25-00538Maggie (female)

Chihuahua    Age: Adult

Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed

Maggie is a super sweet purebred Chihuahua who we all adore. She is pretty quiet and laid back for a little dog. She knows her basic commands, and likes to take little walks (except when it is below 0). Maggie walks very well on a leash, like the polite little lady that she is. She loves to get treats, and takes them very gently. Maggie is dainty, adorable, and well behaved. She is quite affectionate once she gets to know you, but takes a little time to warm up. She looks especially pretty in pink, and enjoys wearing a snugly pink sweater. Maggie is on the quiet side, so would prefer a home with no small children and would like to be ... Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adult Women Only
Personality: Very Submissive
Health: Neutered

Meet Garcia! Garcia is just the sweetest little dog there ever could be. He is about 2 years old and weighs about 10 lbs. He is a Chihuahua and Miniature Pinscher mix. Garcia came into rescue from a local shelter where he was too scared to be put on the adoption floor. Once he got to his foster home he came out of his shell and showed his spunky little personality wagging his tail and trying to get his foster mom to chase him. Garcia is fearful of men and will hide and tremble if there is a man present. He is completely submissive in this situation. He will need a female adopter who is willing to work on building his confidence and ... (Read More)showing him that new friends are GOOD! His foster mom knows from personal experience that a dog like Garcia is very much a diamond in the rough and will return the love and support that you give him 10-fold over the years. A bond like this is hard to come by! Garcia is excellent with other dogs and is great in his crate. He walks nicely on a leash and appears to be house trained. He will be shy when meeting potential adopters but don't let him fool you, he is a frisky little guy who loves to play and run around! If you are interested in finding out more about Garcia, please fill out an application on our website by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: http://www.brokentailrescue.org/adoption-application/ Garcia is being fostered in Holbrook and the adoption fee is $350. Rescue Me ID: 15-02-21-00309Peanut (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Peanut is an all around happy dog. She is 2-4 years old, 8 lbs, and a chihuahua mix. Peanut has been a lovely house guest so far and has made herself right at home. She is wonderful with cats and absolutely loves everyone. She will be a great dog for a family with kids as she loves to play and hasn't shown any signs of guarding or aggression. Our home has two dogs and Peanut is fine with them--unless they bark. Barking dogs of any size, seem to trigger some anxiety and anger in her and she will not hesitate to bite the other dog. Therefore, we think it is best that Peanut find a family in which she will be the only dog. Peanut is very ... (Read More)agile and can easily scale a baby gate, if she so desires. She has no trouble jumping onto beds and other furniture. She loves to play with toys, both with her people on her own. She will collect stuffed animals, socks, winter hats and mittens and bring them to her favorite spots in the house. However, she does not destroy an of these items. Peanut is fabulous in a crate and will often be found napping in there. She goes right in at bedtime and when we leave during the day. She only barks upon our arrival home and it's a 'I'm right here--I know you didn't forget about me!' type of plea. Peanut does need to work on house training and will need someone who will have patience with her while she learns. If you are interested in finding out more about Peanut, please fill out an application on our website by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: http://www.brokentailrescue.org/adoption-application/ Peanut is being fostered in Charlton and her adoption fee is $350. Chihuahua Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations, Obese

This is Baxter he is such a great dog, Ive owned him since he was only a few weeks old and he has been with me through the thick and thin, I dont really want to give him up but I have to move and the place I am going does not allow pets. I want him to go to a place that he will be taken good care of. He is good with people, but has not had a lot of experience around other dogs, I do know that small dogs his size he seems to be ok as long as they are introduced properly, I think he is afraid of bigger dogs.

Rescue Me ID: 14-12-23-00083Jacob (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

I'm Jacob - and I am brand-spanking new to Broken Tail Rescue! I was found as a stray and never reunited with my mom and dad, and now I'm looking for a new family! I'm still getting used to my foster home, so I haven't told them too much about me yet, but I'm coming out of my shell! I am a slightly tubby little guy at 7 pounds. Our vet says that I am about 9 years old, but I act like a dog half my age! My foster mom thinks I'm part 'lowrider' - maybe my doggie mom or dad was a dachshund? My foster mom says I am the best cuddler around! I very rarely bark, but when I do, mom says that I sound like an elderly smoker. I don't know ... (Read More)what that means, but my bark makes people laugh, which I guess is okay! I am very polite around the other dogs in my foster home and I love my wire crate (especially when it's dinner time!). I also live with a 9 year old little girl in my foster home who is very respectful of me needing space at first, but my foster mom says that I am great with her! The perfect home for me would be a home with or without other dogs, a home with lots of toys for me to play with, and if there are kids, perhaps kids that are 8 years old or older.
