Pippy is a sweet female Chihuahua. She was born about January 2010. She is spayed, up to date on shots, and low heartworm positive. Since Pippy is low positive she is just being given monthly heartworm prevention to allow the heartworms to die off naturally. Peanut is charming little male Chihuahua born 06/08/2011. This poor little guy was saved from a breeder who saw Peanut as nothing more than something to make money with. Peanut was left in a pen all day long and had no interaction. Now that Peanut is rescue he is up to date on shots, neutered, and has been microchipped. Peanut is shy at first, but is coming around very nicely. As you might have guessed, this little man, is pretty small, weighing in at only 3 pounds! While he is good with other dogs, it would be best for him to go to a home without children. Peanut is awaiting his forever home that will treat him like family! Mr. Big was picked up by Animal Control after he was found tied to a park bench. Seems his owners felt because he was an 'old timer' he was not of value any longer. But this is not true. Mr. Big was rescued, treated for skin conditions, even had his teeth cleaned (what teeth he has left). And got a great bill of health from the VET...he is HW- He still get around really well, and is quite the ladies man. We estimate him to be around 9 years old. Chihuahua Dogs can make good pets in Louisiana if they match your IifestyIe. Chihuahuas are high strung, yappy, tiny dogs. Chihuahuas are loyal to the point of possessiveness and obsession with their masters. Chihuahuas are bold, high energy dogs that make wonderful companions for their owners but are suspicious of strangers. Chihuahuas are not well suited to families with children due to the dogs' defensiveness and tendency to snap when provoked. Chihuahuas need to be thoroughly socialized. Despite their small size, Chihuahuas are often aggressive with other dogs. Chihuahuas do fine living in an apartment but need plenty of daily exercise.
