Animal ID: KOKO (male)
Koko is a typical Chihuahua. No papers to prove his is purebred, but I would guess he is for sure. He is funny & full of energy.Just too much energy for my two other dogs. He is curious about my cat, but she just does not like him. He would do great in a home by himself or with other small dogs. He behaves, is doggy door trained and comes with his fur-lined bed, leash, dish, wool sweater and his two blankets. He just doesn't fit well here. I will miss him. He loves to be with people.

Rescue Me ID: 13-11-07-00130Starsky (male)
FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Did you love playing hide and go seek when you were a kid? Want to play it again? Then Starsky is your boy! This cutie is a super sweet, super cute and super loving boy is all about a warm lap and a fuzzy blanket. Give him those things and he thinks he is set for life. He is a hoot to watch as he runs in the house from outside to burrow under his favorite fuzzy blanket. He's so good at it that his foster mom often has to search all the blankets in the house looking for him. Starsky will keep you laughing with his antics to try to get under the covers or cuddled next to you to his satisfaction! Starsky's new family will need to make sure there is always at least one soft fuzzy blanket laying around for him. His favorite thing is to bury himself under a cozy blanket sleeping the afternoon away. Starsky is a 2 year old neutered male Min Pin/Chihuahua mix who came to Fuzzy Pawz after his people moved and left him in the backyard with his brother and his mom. He is a mellow boy who is very easy to have around the house. He does okay with large dogs, but prefers to have a small dog to play with; he really enjoys playing chase and wrestling. Starsky loves to go hang with his doggie friends at Camp Bow Wow. Starsky is house trained (and will use a dog door) and crate trained. He will sit, come and knows 'no.' Starsky is working on his leash skills and may be best on a harness so his small head does not slip out of his collar. Starsky likes to 'go', but once in the car is a bit nervous; this is improving the more he goes places. Starsky would be best in a home with children 12 and older as he seems fearful of small children. This happy-go-lucky boy will make a great addition to a home looking for a low maintenance companion. But be aware he does like to bark at people that are walking past his yard, but with some consistency he will quickly learn that is not allowed. Starsky currently weighs about 14 lbs, but is on a diet as the vet would like to see him closer to 12 lbs. Starsky is neutered, microchipped and current on his vaccinations. There is a $40 adoption fee If you are looking for a new man in your life and think Starsky might be it please go to the Fuzzy Pawz Rescue website and fill out a pre-adoption application: www.fuzzypawzrescue.com. Upon completion of the application we will have the foster parent contact you. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 13-11-04-00324Leo (male)
FOSTER LOCATION: Kuna, ID Leo is a gentle, mellow little ball of fluff! At around 3 years old he found himself homeless and scared. Fuzzy Pawz Rescue stepped up to the plate and placed him in a loving foster home that helped Leo remember that people are sweet and give him good things to eat. This fluff ball is still timid and nervous around new people at first, but he comes around with some patience and love. Once he knows you are his friend, he becomes a little love bug. He will jump on your lap and sneak kisses when you are least expecting it. He also loves being where you are and will follow you around the house to see what you're up to. But he is not a needy little dog and does like his quiet time by himself, but when he wants a tummy rub he will let you know. Leo would be great in a quiet home with older children (15+) only and would do best as the only dog or with another small, mellow dog. A cat would be ok too. He needs to be in a home where he is allowed on the furniture as his favorite spot is lying on the back of the couch where he can see everything that is going on. Leo is great in the car and loves going for rides. He gets excited at first, but will calm down and just lay in his seat. Leo is not completely potty trained. He will go outside if you take him, but he does not have a cue to let you know when he needs to go out. This is easy to fix by putting him on a feeding and potty schedule. Leo will make a great forever companion. He has so much love to give and is just waiting for a family that will love him, give him confidence, and help him become the best he can be. He is neutered, current on vaccinations, and microchipped. If you can offer this sweet boy a place on your couch and a place in your heart then please go to www.fuzzypawzrescue.com, fill out the pre adoption application and we will contact you about him. There is a $40 adoption fee (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 13-10-22-00171Maximillian (male)
Max needs a new home with a mature woman or couple who does not have small children visiting often. He can be aggressive when cornered by a small child with no place to go. He is potty trained, however when left in the house for more than a few hours he will mark his territory and show his separation anxiety. I leave him in a kennel if I am going to be away from home more than a few hours and he is fine and never wets in his kennel. I always take him outside and tell him to potty when I get home, before leaving, in the morning and before bed and he does his business outside as long as I am at home. He loves to cuddle under a blanket and sleeps under the covers every night. He loves belly rubs often. He walks right beside me on a leash without any issue. He takes a while to warm up to a non-aggressive male and prefers a woman. But given only one choice on the sofa with a blanket he will eventually accept a man that is not confrontational. I need to find him a safe home soon, as I have a 20 month old granddaughter who loves animals and wants him to love her and she gets very sad when I scold Max and cries. I can only lock him up in a kennel for so long. And I have another granddaughter arriving any day. Please take my sweet Max so I don't have to leave him at the shelter. I will provide you with Chip information and give you a kennel if needed. (Less)

Chihuahua Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Chihuahuas are high strung, yappy, tiny dogs. Chihuahuas are loyal to the point of possessiveness and obsession with their masters. Chihuahuas are bold, high energy dogs that make wonderful companions for their owners but are suspicious of strangers. Chihuahuas are not well suited to families with children due to the dogs' defensiveness and tendency to snap when provoked. Chihuahuas need to be thoroughly socialized. Despite their small size, Chihuahuas are often aggressive with other dogs. Chihuahuas do fine living in an apartment but need plenty of daily exercise.
