Rescue Me ID: 14-07-21-00628Bugs (female)

Chihuahua    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Name: Bugs Age: 6 months Breed: Tea cup Chihuahua Sex: Spayed Female Location: Meridian, ID Likes: Other dogs and cats, just wants to play with everyone Playing with chew toys and stuffed toys Cuddling/being as close as possible with her person Going for car rides Dislikes: Being crated for more than a few minutes Not having her human around her (separation anxiety) The cold Bugs is an itty bitty 5 pound Chi who loves to wear clothes and be with her people. This cutie has a lot to learn about life as she spent most of hers so far locked up in a shed. Now that she is free and living in a Fuzzy Pawz foster home she has found that ... (Read More)she loves to go places, meet new people and animals. She is very endearing and lovable; Bugs just wants to love and play with everyone and everything. Does well with a harness and restraint in a car even for long drives. She's not so great on a leash; she's okay until you try to get her to go in a direction she doesn't want to go then she, will fight the leash. More practice and she will excel at leash walking as she really does want to please her person. Bugs is pretty mild mannered, not much seems to phase her. She is very high energy and very easily excited, always wanting to play. Somewhat vocal but not really 'yappy.' She is easily excitable and can get a little carried away when playing, nipping playfully on occasion. She's on her way to being house broken, uses piddle pads fairly regularly. She sometimes lets you know she has to go by ringing a bell hanging on the door. Bugs would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time - no kids under 15 please (she has abused by children in her past life). Bugs would also love to have another dog in her new home to play with. She is treat and praise motivated she will learn all you need her to very quickly. If you can offer Bugs the world she has never known please go to http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/, fill out the pre adoption application and Fuzzy Pawz Rescue will contact you about her. There is a $40 adoption fee to help cover some of the cost of her spay and vaccinations. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-07-12-00146JJ (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Looking for a loving home for a very loving, special needs, dog. His name is 'JJ'. JJ is a stray that was taken in by my mom about two years ago. My mom now has dementia and is no longer able to care for him. He needs to be in a home with older children and no cats. A younger dog would be great because he loves to play! He does not need to be in your lap but loves to sit as close to you as possible. JJ needs a fenced yard to play in. Due to being a stray he has a problem with marking his territory and using the bathroom inside. I think lots of playtime outside and close supervision inside should fix this problem. He is very ... (Read More)intelligent and learns quickly. He is in need of someone who can spend a lot of time working with him. JJ is just waiting to be someone's best friend. I hope we can find someone who needs JJ as much as he needs them. (Less)

Chihuahua    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

We have a 2 year old male chihuahua that needs to find a new home. We have had him for 3 months. He gets along fantastically with our other dog, with some of my children-especially my 7 year old daughter, but he does not like my husband. We have tried and tried, but we think that maybe a previous male owner was abusive. I think he would prefer a female owner. He is a good dog, he is house trained and he doesn't chew on our things. He is also kennel trained and sleeps in a kennel at night. $50 rehoming fee.

Lucy is a very sweet quiet lady who is looking for her new home after losing her 'mom.' Lucy is a ten year old Chihuahua mix. She is house and leash trained. Lucy has not been around children younger than 4. She has been great with folks of all ages, so she may be OK with the younger set as well. Lucy is very loyal and once she is comfortable and bonds with you, she will be your constant companion. Please stop by and see if Lucy might fit into your family. If you ... PIease Read Before Adopting a Chihuahua in Idaho
Chihuahua Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Chihuahuas are high strung, yappy, tiny dogs. Chihuahuas are loyal to the point of possessiveness and obsession with their masters. Chihuahuas are bold, high energy dogs that make wonderful companions for their owners but are suspicious of strangers. Chihuahuas are not well suited to families with children due to the dogs' defensiveness and tendency to snap when provoked. Chihuahuas need to be thoroughly socialized. Despite their small size, Chihuahuas are often aggressive with other dogs. Chihuahuas do fine living in an apartment but need plenty of daily exercise.
