Rescue Me ID: 17-06-24-00469Ox (male)

Chihuahua    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Ox is 8 months old, 9 lbs, up to date on shots (will come with vet paperwork) and is potty trained and crate trained. He is good in the bath and will let you clip his nails with no problem. He also knows sit, lay down, shake, come, leave it and will stay near you and not run off. He is also very good on a leash. He is extremely sweet, loves to cuddle with you while you sit and watch t.v, and will sleep under the blanket with you every night. He likes going for car rides, loves the park and lake, and is an all around great little dog with a fun, sweet and happy personality. He is wonderful with children, other dogs, cats and people of all ... (Read More)ages. He does not have any real behavioral problems other than barking/growling when he hears someone at the door, but with reassurance, quickly ceases. The reason we are rehoming him, is no fault of his own. We have had to move in with my mom while my partner is in school, and her dog is highly aggressive towards him. We keep them separated since she has attacked him before, but he is just so scared all the time... If he even suspects that she is near, he will cower and growl... It is a miserable life for him and we just want what is best for our boy. He has become very timid since we moved.. So he will NOT go to anyone who is heavy handed or believes in any dominance nonsense. He is a sensitive dog, who was treated poorly by his breeder before we got him, and he will only go to someone who believes in positive reinforcement. He is a happy dog, and it took a lot to get him that way. His new owner must also whole-heartedly agree NOT to breed him and to get him neutered as soon as possible. He came from a bad breeder who lied about health testing and already shows signs of weak knees, so please keep him lean as too much weight will most likely strain them and cause issues down the road. He would love an owner who has plenty of time for him, and will take him for walks, hikes, or other adventures. He will have an adoption fee of $150 which will include him, tons of toys, collars, leashes, clothes, food, bowl, treats, chews and anything else of his that I can find. He has been very spoiled and well taken care of, and I expect his new home to keep it that way. Please EMAIL or TEXT ONLY. Please NO calls. (Less)

Chihuahua    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Charlie the Chihuahua. He is approximately 3 years old and weighs 5.4 lbs. He loves people and other small dogs, it is unknown about cats and small children at this time. He is a little timid at first, but will be your best friend once he gets to know you. He has had several teeth removed due to poor nutrition but is fully vetted and microchiped. Charlie walks well on a leash and is learning basic commands. He is a quiet little boy who would make a great life partner.

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-19-00192Johnny (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Adult

Johnny recently arrived at MCR after being transferred by Annie's Rescue Ride from Phoenix, Arizona. Here's what we know: 'HISTORY: Johnny was brought into the county pound after being found as a stray. This poor little dog has gone through a lot in his 5 years. His ear is permanently torn because of an untreated wound and he had an untreated fracture in his back leg so he walks with a stiff gait. PERSONALITY: Johnny is a sweet little guy. He loves to give kisses, and cuddle with you while you sleep. However, being a Chihuahua, when you push him to do something he doesn't want to do, he will snap. He usually did this to me when I picked him ... (Read More)up while sleeping. Other than that issue, Johnny is a very good dog. He is quiet and likes other small dogs. TRAINING: Johnny is mostly housebroken, but he is a heavy marker. He was just neutered and he was living in my house with lots of male dogs, so that might have been the reason for his heavy marking. He is not food aggressive but is very protective of his treats. THINGS TO WORK ON: Johnny is a door dasher and he is constantly trying to find ways to escape the yard. He can snap when challenged so I would not place him with children. He is a bit nervous in the car but settles down after a while. He wants to go on walks but he is not used to the leash and scares easily when outside. Overall, Johnny is a great little dog. Because of his hard life he can be shy and a bit nervous at first. He needs some who can spoil him rotten and spend a lot of time with him since he loves being around people. Once he knows he can trust you, he loves and adores you.' (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-19-00188Paco (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Senior

Paco is another recent arrival from Phoenix, Arizona. We're told that this guy is about 10 years old, but he is definitely still young at heart. Paco is dog-friendly. But he's a little too friendly sometimes, if you know what we mean. Still, we think Paco would love to have other doggie friends who wouldn't mind his amorous ways. Paco is good with older kids (we're not sure about younger kids), and he's both house- and crate-trained. Here's more info from his previous rescue: Paco was surrendered to the county pound along with his buddy, Molly. I believe their owner died. The volunteers at the shelter told me he was part of a bonded pair ... (Read More)with Molly. However, after observing them myself and getting feedback from their foster mom, we believe they are NOT bonded. Personality: Happy, friendly, sweet boy--- a bit hyper and doesn't like to be held much. Training: For the most part, Paco seems to be housebroken. His foster mom kept him penned up most of the time, so it is hard to tell for certain if he is completely housebroken. He was around a child who was about 8 years old, and he was fine. Overall, Paco is very sweet, a bit nervous, but mostly a great dog. Health: Nothing to note Things to work on: He is a heavy marker (but he was in a household with many dogs.) (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-19-00148Molly (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Senior

Molly (and her friend Paco) came all the way from from Arizona to Idaho to find her forever family. She is 10 years young, but she acts much younger. Good with dogs and kids and housetrained, Molly would fit in well with most families. Here's more info: History: Molly was surrendered to the county pound along with her buddy, Paco. I believe their owner died. The volunteers at the shelter told me she was part of a bonded pair with Paco. However, after observing them myself and getting feedback from their foster mom, we believe they are NOT bonded. Personality: Happy, friendly, sweet girl. Training: For the most part, Molly seems to be ... (Read More)housebroken. Her foster mom kept her penned up most of the time, so it is hard to tell for certain if she is completely housebroken. She was around a child who was about 8 years old, and she was fine. Overall, Molly is very sweet, a bit nervous, but mostly a great dog. Health: Despite not having a large appetite, Molly is obese. However, the volunteers at the county shelter felt like she was losing weight while she was with them. Getting a thyroid check might be indicated. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-06-19-00112Olivia (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Oh, Olivia. This little one just wants to be your friend. She really does. But she's a little intimidated by everything around her, so she'll simply lay down, offer her belly, and hope for the best. Out in the play yard, Olivia relaxes a little and turns into a happy puppy. At about 3 years of age, she has plenty of energy to spare. She's curious, good with dogs, good with cats, and good at keeping her kennel clean here. We don't yet know how she feels about children. You're welcome to bring your kids in to meet her. On leash, Olivia isn't really sure what to do. She'll weave around your feet a little, stop, hunker down in the grass, jump ... (Read More)up, sprint forward, stop, and repeat. Her leash manners may need a little work, yes, but she'll learn soon enough. She's also perfectly willing to be carried around everywhere. Come meet this sweetheart today. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-05-23-00370Ozzy (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Ozzy is a three-year-old Basenji/Chihuahua/Cattle Dog (best guess); who weighs in a a slim and trim 25 pounds. He was one of 23 dogs rescued from a hoarding situation in Owyhee County by a local shelter. This background has presented a few challenges with him but he is making great progress and is quite the entertaining little guy. He didn't receive much training or human interaction in his previous home, so it does take him a while to trust a new human but he's making great progress and gets braver each day. Taking him for a nice walk has proven to be a great way to make friends with Ozzy and of course ... (Read More)offering up so yummy treats. Build a bond of trust with him and he will be your best friend forever. He loves to snuggle with his foster mom (and the other dogs) after a long day of play in the yard. This little man is great on leash and enjoys going out for walks and playing chase in the backyard. Ozzy is an active and playful dog despite being spooked easily. Ozzy lives with three other dogs and 4 cats in his foster home, and they have him helped tremendously. He needs to go to a home with a happy-go-lucky, confident dog(s); he will not do well as the only dog in the household. Ozzy will need a special home that is anxiety aware and has a lot of patience. He has been taken from one world and into another, and despite his new life having lots of love, it's all new to him. He does like to burrow and hide in confined spaces, like under the couch or behind a shed. With time and trust he will forgo that habit as long as he has a stable, consistent home. Ozzy finds security in his crate at night and should he be feeling overwhelmed so his new home needs to make sure he has access to one. He needs a securely fenced yard (6') and he will require supervision until he is settled. Ozzy doesn't know any commands at this time but he is 100% house trained! He needs a consistent and safe environment that can let his true loyal and cuddly personality shine. Ozzy will bond to his new family given a bit of time but will need a home with no children (under 15) and someone willing and able to give him the time and reassurance he needs. You won't be sorry love, patience and gentle guidance and the sky is the limit for this lovely boy. If you can be the one who completes Ozzy's life the please apply for him today: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Ozzy is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. Rescue Me ID: 17-04-10-00224Tigger (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Puppy

Tigger joined us on our last Wings of Rescue transport. He was flown in, along with his buddies Roo and Ivan, after we learned that they needed a rescue spot. All three dogs (plus several more) had been living in a home together, so we know that Tigger is great with other dogs. Like his best friend Roo, Tigger is somewhat timid. When meeting new people, he can take a minute to warm up. However, he's quick to gain confidence and show you affection once he learns that you're a friend. Tigger makes an excellent lap dog and hops up into your arms whenever he can. Because he's a newer arrival, we haven't had the opportunity yet to conduct ... (Read More)supervised meet-and-greets. We suspect that Tigger is good with older kids, but we're not sure how he feels about younger kids, cats, crates, etc. As we continue to get to know this 1-2 year old, we'll update his profile. In the meantime, come cuddle this guy yourself. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-04-05-00080Biscuit (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Senior

A 9 year old gentleman, Biscuit joined MCR after being surrendered by a family who could no longer care for him. He is often timid and shy when meeting new people and needs to be adopted by someone who will respect his boundaries and offer him a quiet, calm environment. Biscuit is reportedly good with other dogs, and he previously lived in a home with children. He is both house- and kennel-trained. Since we've had Biscuit, we've found him to be easy to handle and walk, though he does give clear signals when a situation makes him uncomfortable. For that reason, we recommend a mature home.

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Mr Clyde was found on the interstate with three other small dogs, unfortunately one of them did not make it. Thanks to volunteers, him and the other two companions survived and when his and Bonnie's owners were not found they were placed into rescue. Clyde is a loving boy that loves to play with dogs of all sizes and hang out with his people. He would be a great addition to almost any family. Rescue Me ID: 17-02-06-00143Nala (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Adult

Miss Nala arrived recently from Arizona and has been hanging out in a foster home where it's calm and quiet. She is a timid, shy little girl, who would like nothing more than a peaceful home of her very own. Nala is 6-7 years old, spayed, utd on shots, and microchipped. She does very well with dogs and cats -- in fact, she is currently staying in a foster home with one of our recently adopted dogs, Fitz. Nala is both house and kennel trained as well. Because of her temperament, we're looking for a mature household without any kids, as Nala would prefer to be around adults who would respect her boundaries and move a little more slowly. It was ... (Read More)reported that Nala bit a child, but the records are confusing. She has shown no signs of aggression here. Nala was previously sheltered at a facility in Arizona, and during her stay, she became pregnant. Nala had one fetus about 28 days old when the county shelter spayed her. We know that Nala has been through a lot of upheaval and that explains why she doesn't like to be picked up from the front and why she's reluctant to move out of her safe kennel space when she meets new people. Once Nala decompresses in a home, she is an absolute love and wants to hang out on the couch. If you're interested in meeting Nala, please call the Rescue at 208-794-0944. *Please contact us for her adoption fee. (Less)
