Rescue Me ID: 18-06-18-00310Lois (female)

Chihuahua    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Very Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise ID Lois is an 8-10 year old black Chihuahua (4.5 lbs) who came to Fuzzy Pawz after she was removed from a hoarding situation by IHS this past spring. She and the other dogs that were removed needed lots of medical attention, so she came to foster care to recover. Lois had to have most of her teeth removed and has since healed from surgery to also alleviate the symptoms of a sinus infection. Her ears were also infected and she was pretty skinny. Her back legs are crooked but they don't cause her pain and she gets around alright. Fast forward about 5 weeks and she is REALLY starting to feel much better! Now that Lois' ... (Read More)health issues have been addressed, her foster family has been able to see her true personality and what an absolute joy she is! Lois gets along with all other dogs and cats and is generally a pretty mellow dog. She enjoys her naps, either on your lap or in the warm sun. She also REALLY enjoys meal time. Wet food is her only option now that most of her teeth are gone, but she gets very excited and animated when it's time to eat. Recently Lois has begun to interact with and play with the other dogs in her foster home, which makes us think she will do best in a home with at least one other dog. Lois is so easy going that she travels in the car well, and does fine in groups of people. She is really snuggly and affectionate, and even will pull your hand towardsher if she wants more attention. We haven't had her around kids, but she would probably do well with kids that respected her and were gentle. She is crate trained and mostly potty trained (we think she's never been potty trained in her life so she will need some reinforcement). Lois will do well in many homes, but she needs a home that understands and can accommodate her physical needs (wet food, potty training, and no extensive walks). She will reward you with curling up on your lap and a wiggly butt when you return home. If that is you just fill out an application: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ and we'll get back to you. Rescue Me ID: 18-06-18-00307Alice (female)

Chihuahua    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Alice is the sweetest dog who is looking to ride out her golden years with a loving committed family who will be her long awaited forever home/family. At only 8 years old this adorable girl has had a lot of people fail her but Fuzzy Pawz is committed to finding her the perfect family who will give her their all. She may be 8 years old but you would never know it given how spry, (but not hyper,) she is. She is a, 'young 8-year-old dog,' who is very well behaved, stable, and has the sweetest disposition. You can tell she has been in a family setting. She loves being pet and goes belly up for tummy rubs. She is ... (Read More)honestly so sweet and easy. Alice would be best placed in a home where she can be a vital part of the family. A family with older kids is preferable as young kids could hurt her and stress her out due to her small size. She needs a family who will allow her to be a lap dog. She does however, love going on walks and for rides in the car. Good with dogs and would enjoy another little buddy to hang out with; we are unsure of cats but best guess she would be more than fine. Alice suffers from allergies and needs people who are committed to her care, specifically keeping up on her allergy medication and any specialty food to keep her allergies and scratching at bay. She is currently on Apoquel for her allergies which is about $2/day but trust us this girl is worth it! Alice is truly the sweetest little gal and will make a devoted family so happy and bring tons of joy to them. If you are looking for the next big love in your life you just fill out an application: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ and we'll get back to you. Rescue Me ID: 18-06-08-00347Bell (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Bell is a female long haired Chihuahua mix. She is 2 1/2 years old and weighs 8.8 pounds. She is fully vetted and ready to go to her new home. She walks well on a leash and loves to be with her people. Bell would be okay with respectful kids. She would do best as an only dog as she wants to protect her human from other dogs. Cats are probably out of the picture as well. She loves to give kisses and just sit with you. She's a delightful little girl who needs regular brushing and a fenced yard. We don't believe she was potty trained or if she knows how to use a doggy door, but she is very smart and with a little training and patience ... (Read More)she will learn. She was surrendered with another dog that she gets along with really well, so in time she may like another dog around. (Less)

Chihuahua    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Obese

Cujo is a long haired Chihuahua. He is very sweet. For some reason I can't get his photo to load properly. He was very overweight has lost four pounds while boarding at the animal hospital so he is almost down to an ideal weight. His Mom had to go live at an assisted living facility and will not be able to come back home with him. Her family is unable to keep him because they have a much larger dog that he doesn't get along with. Yo can contact me at the email below and I will email you his photo.

Animal ID: ALBEEALBEE (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Albee is finally ready to find his forever home! He was rescued back in February with 12 other dogs who were living outside having to fend for themselves. Luckily BHR was able to help and give them a better life. A couple weeks in living with his foster home, Albee was so excited to see his foster dad when arriving home that he bailed off his foster mom's lap as she opened her pickup door. Unaware of how high he jumped from, Albee broke a front leg when he landed. He had orthopedic surgery and a plate was placed to help the bone heal. Few weeks into recovery, the stainless steel plate broke! Back into surgery Albee went to have a new plate ... (Read More)placed and was on cage rest for 6 weeks. He has been released from cage rest and is doing great! He acts like he never broke a leg, which isn't the greatest thing because he thinks he can jump off of anything he wants which unfortunately isn't the case, his adoptive family will have take caution of the height he jumps.. that leg is now weaker even if he doesn't show it! If the family has kids, older and respectful kids is preferred do to his injury. Albee is the biggest social butterfly. Everyone and animal is his friend which means he has no idea what a space bubble means! So if there are other animals in the home, they have to be okay with sharing their space. He is crate and leash trained but will have the occasional accident in the house. We are still working on being left alone, he isn't a fan of that. Albee's favorite things to do are to play with squeeky toys, sleep under the covers in bed and eat peanut butter.. this dog addicted to peanut butter. Albee is full of personality. He most likely is a deer legged Chihuahua mix, he has long legs and around a year old(10lbs). If Albee sounds like the perfect fit to the family.     Sage is an awesome girl who has been in foster care for several months and is READY for her forever home. It's taken her time because she came in pregnant and raised her three babies. She loves attention and will even fetch if that means she gets loves and praise. She is potty trained and uses a doggy door. She does well with other dogs and is kinda nosey with the cat in her foster home . . . so maybe a cat who will put up with that or no cat would be best. If there are kids in the home, they need to be respectful and/or older kids. She has had her medical and is ready for adoption. Her adoption fee is $135. If you want to fall in love with ... Rescue Me ID: 18-04-13-00172Bindy (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Bindy is a super smart, cute little pup with a lot of potential. Unfortunately she had some rough times early on and/or was mistreated which has made her timid of people. After a month at her Fuzzy Pawz foster home, Bindy has come a long way. However, she is still leery when her foster mom (or others) approach her and prefers to initiate contact on her own terms. Bindy does love to cuddle and seems to enjoy affection once she calms down and realizes she is safe; really once you have your hand on her she is the biggest cuddle bug. The best thing for Bindy now is to find her forever home so she can start to build ... (Read More)long-term trust and know she is a loved member of the family at only about 2 year old she has lots of time to learn to trust. Bindy's forever family should be prepared to be very patient and consistent, especially with training. Bindy is not treat motivated, and she's generally scared of humans. Thus training could be challenging and may require creative techniques and/or professional assistance (Fuzzy Pawz can hook you up with their positive rewards trainer). Bindy does love to play with other pups and has learned a lot from mimicking and following her foster sister. We will require that Bindy's new home have another confident, active and playful pup. She loves to wrestle with the other dogs in the home, and they spend most of their days chasing each other, going in and out and in and out of the dog door, and patrolling the yard for trespassing squirrels. As noted earlier, Bindy is quite smart. When she is scared or nervous, Bindy's instinct is flee, and she's capable of climbing and maneuvering impressive escapes. Bindy's forever home will need a very secure yard, and she'll need to be closely supervised (and on leash) until she settles in. She will need a kid free and cat free home. Despite the cautionary tales, Bindy can be quite sweet, and it's heartwarming to see her start to come out of her shell. She is cute as can be and will be a wonderful companion once she gets past her fear. It's just a matter of finding the right fit! If you can offer Bindy a kind, loving and patient home please complete an adoption application today: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Bindy is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped Bindys's adoption fee is $75 (Less)

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Lenny is a 2 year old Chihuahua/Basenji mix who has quite a year. Last spring, Lenny was removed from a hoarding home with a few dozen other dogs. He was relatively socialized so he was adopted soon after. Unfortunately, he was returned this past winter. Then, the Humane Society realized he needed surgery on his knees, and some time to resocialize. So, he was placed in foster care with Fuzzy Pawz so he could recover, and now he is ready to find his forever home! Lenny is quite active, especially now that his knees feel so much better! Once he becomes comfortable where he is, he is a goofy and sweet boy who just ... (Read More)wants to live his best life. He enjoys playing and wrestling with his foster siblings, and has been known to chase a squirrel running along the fence from time to time. He is learning how fun toys can be too! Soft toys are his favorite. He is totally potty trained and loves his crate. He happily stays in his crate while his foster mom is gone from the house, as long as he can see his friends. While he doesn't know any commands, he is eager to please and his foster mom has begun working on it with him. Given Lenny's history, it's not surprising he has some quirks. Lenny is scared of new things and hasn't had much experience going out on walks. The outside world can be overwhelming for him.l and he gets spooked easily. He will need continued training in baby steps to make him more comfortable with new things. Barking is Lenny's default response when he's scared, so his new home will need to understand his responses. Lenny is also much more afraid of men, than women, so he cannot go to a home with only men in the house. Lenny's ideal home would be one with at least one woman, but also one that has plenty of structure and consistency, as he thrives when things are predictable. He also MUST go to a home with another playful and confident dog so he can continue building his confidence. He is fine with cats, but children under 12 would scare him, so we won't adopt to a home with younger kids. If you think you can give Lenny the love, structure, and specialized training he needs, fill out an application today!
