Rescue Me ID: 14-09-22-00189Blue (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Meridian, ID NO MORE SINGIN' THE BLUES...This gorgeous boy came to the shelter with a broken femur...3 surgeries later and Blue is healed and ready for his new furever home! He is a 1 year old, 20lb Chihuahua mix who loves to cuddle! Blue loves his humans and will greet them at the door with wiggles and kisses. He gets along great with other dogs and especially loves big dogs. He will cuddle right into their curves and will soon drift off into a warm slumber. He like to play with other dogs and is very loud when playing. It sounds like he's growling - but it's all for fun. Blue isn't too sure about cats...we've ... (Read More)encountered a few on our walks and he seems a bit scared and gives them a wide berth! Blue would enjoy an active family who will take him on adventures. He has come to love car rides and will go anywhere with you. Daily walks and playing with another dog will keep this boy happy. Blue is not a fan of being cold and will find a way to warm up...cuddling on a lap, sunning in the yard, snuggling under the covers at bedtime or a pile of blankets on the floor. He also enjoys chewing on bones & bully sticks. When he's bored, he will chew on things he's not suppose to...pencils & action figures are his favorite. Blue has been living in older kids and does fine; he is not good with smaller kids - the noise and activity level tend to stress him out and he will nip at them. So Blue needs to go to a home with kids 15 and older. Blue is house-trained, crate-trained, will sit for treats and walks well on a leash. If you are interested in adding Blue to your household please go to our website and complete an application: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ There is a $40 adoption fee for Blue Blue has been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Rescue Me ID: 14-09-22-00110Emmalee (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Cats
Health: Spayed

Emmalee is a tiny 6 year old spayed female Chihuahua. She's white w/ just a hint of darker spotting on her body, warm dark eyes and a perky tail. Emmalee is shy so she doesn't quite know what to make of all the noise and activity here at the rescue but has taken to burying herself in her blankets for some alone time. Subdued in her kennel, she does enjoy going out for some exercise and one on one time with the volunteers. Emmalee is personable, enjoys handling and a warm lap, walks nicely on lead, and appears to be house/kennel trained. Emmalee will probably require a quieter home without small children or a hurried lifestyle. Emmalee needs ... (Read More)to go to a home without cats. If you would like to meet Emmalee, stop by the rescue between 11 am and 4 pm 7 days a week. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-12-00424Dubby (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Meridian, ID Dubby came to Fuzzy Pawz Rescue after finding himself and about 20 of his closest friends at an animal shelter. Unsure of why he was there, why his friends started to disappear (they were adopted) and why he was left in the company of strangers Dubby became shy. The shelter knew that all Dubby needed was a warm lap and some sweet nothings whispered in his ear to find the zest in life again so Fuzzy Pawz was called. Dubby has been in a foster home for a few weeks and what can we say about this little guy, hmmm. How about he is the sweetest boy EVER! Dubby is an 8 year old Chihuahua; the short, stocky ... (Read More)variety and is totally adorable and did we mention that he is a sweetheart? This little guy loves to lay with his person, cuddling on the couch is a favorite past time; he is content to lie around all day or be as active as you want. Dubby is very well behaved and he is pretty calm in the house and just wants to be with his human no matter what they are doing. He's house trained, great to walk and likes chew toys but not much else as far as toys. He rides well in a car with a seatbelt but whines a little if he's riding in a crate. He gets along great with other dogs and cats, good around kids. He seems to know basic commands but tends to ignore you if you let him. While he is good with kids we would not recommend him for kids under 10, he is pretty lazy. We really can't say enough good things about the little guy. He just really wants his own human to love. If you think that human is you please go fill out an adoption application and we will get back to you about him: http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ Dubby is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped There is a $40 adoption fee for Dubby (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-08-20-00199JJ (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Bet you can't resist his smile! FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Two years ago JJ was found as a stray, moved in with a lovely senior woman and enjoyed life to the fullest. Sadly his mom developed health issues that didn't allow her to care for this adorable 4 year old Chihuahua any longer. Fuzzy Pawz is now dedicated to finding JJ the perfect forever home. JJ is a very nice boy who loves to be with his person; he loves to sit in your lap or next to you and he likes to be held and cuddled on; oh and he'll smother you with kisses. Sweet, stocky, sturdy and a bit stubborn is how we'd describe this boy. He is very smart and knows 'sit', ... (Read More)'wait', 'come', 'leave it', and 'down'; JJ is house trained and will alert you when he needs to go outside. He walks on a leash nicely and is crate trained. He even knows to wait to be invited into/out of the house. He is curious and alert and follows instructions easily. JJ is very quiet; even when out in the yard with the bigger dogs he does not bark. He enjoys the yard and the other dogs but his preferred place is inside with his person. He needs time to figure out his relationship with other dogs and being little - he will employ the best defense is a good offense tactic. As long as the other dogs don't overreact he finds his place easily. Although he prefers adults he has been very good with a young girl he met recently. However we do require no children under the age of 10. He would do best in a calm household with or without other dogs. He loves elderly people and seems drawn to them and this is not surprising since that is all he has known his entire life. JJ is an incredible little dog and would make a great dog for someone who wanted a good companion. If you can offer o the life he deserves please fill out the adoption application at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ There is an adoption fee of $40 to adopt JJ JJ is neutered, vaccinated (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-03-05-00263Misty (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Seizures

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Silly, goofy, sweet, gentle those are the words we who know her use to describe Misty the 3 year old Chihuahua mix. This pretty, long legged girl is just a joy to be around with her lopsided grin and her ambling walk. Misty is one of those dogs that just make you smile every time you see her face or watch her prance over to you for some loves. Misty loves nice long scratches and rubs on her chest and is always ready to settle down on the couch for a nap and a bit of TV watching with her family. We do require that Misty do not go to a home that has kids under 15 as she does get ... (Read More)overwhelmed by too much going on. Misty gets along fine with other small dogs but big dogs scare her. Misty would do best in a household that has other dogs her size or as an only dog where she can get all the love and attention. She is mostly fine with the cats in her foster home; she will on occasion take offense to them if they are being too pushy, but it is just barking. Misty came from a home in California where the humans were inbreeding and overbreeding the dogs in their home; sadly Misty's dog mom had been bred so many times and was so old that she began to have problems. Misty was stuck in the birth canal for a while darning cutting off her oxygen supply. As a result Misty has a touch of neurological damage from birth; she won't get worse and it does not affect her hardly at all. The worst you will notice is that it can sometimes take her an extra second to process information when she is tired or scared. And she does have a funny little prance when she walks; but it doesn't slow her down at all, it is the only thing she has ever known and she gets around great. Misty is house trained and very easy going. She likes her crate and will often go in on her own just to take a nap; she is very, very easy to live with. She does not enjoy walking on leash, but she does enjoy sitting in the sun in the backyard and she is great in the house. Misty does need a family that will allow her to have quiet time in her crate (her favorite place to nap) and will let her live the quiet, spoiled life she deserves. She will need a home that has a fenced yard so she can sunbathe to her hearts content. She would love to spend her days sitting in your lap soaking up your love. She really is a playful, happy little girl who has turned lemons into lemonade. If you can offer our little girl the life she should have always had please fill out the adoption application at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ There is an adoption fee of $40 to adopt Misty Misty is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped *Misty is eligible for our Pets for Patriots Program **You can see a short video of Misty walking here: http://youtu.be/3NdK4kQbVoo (Less)
