Rescue Me ID: 14-08-26-00151Max (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Needs to be Neutered

Max is an absolutely charming 6 1/2 month old Jack Russell/Chihuahua blend. This busy boy walks OK on a leash but doesn't appear to have learned many manners. Since he is alert and makes great eye contact, we think he will learn quickly. Max appears both house and kennel trained; he knows how to sit and takes treats gently. That said, he is an all round rambunctious dude. It is reported that he is good with other dogs and older children but not so good with younger children (under 8) or kitties. Max likes toys and engages in active play; he is interested in balls but once he's chased them down, he doesn't know what to do with them. If you're ... (Read More)looking for four legged bundle of energy, stop by and meet Max today. If you want to apply for Max, go to http://www.meridianvalleyhumanesociety.com/pre-adopt-questionnaire.rtf to fill out an application. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will contact the person chosen to adopt him. *Max's adoption fee includes his neuter, which will be scheduled prior to him going to his new home. Rescue Me ID: 14-08-20-00199JJ (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Bet you can't resist his smile! FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Two years ago JJ was found as a stray, moved in with a lovely senior woman and enjoyed life to the fullest. Sadly his mom developed health issues that didn't allow her to care for this adorable 4 year old Chihuahua any longer. Fuzzy Pawz is now dedicated to finding JJ the perfect forever home. JJ is a very nice boy who loves to be with his person; he loves to sit in your lap or next to you and he likes to be held and cuddled on. JJ has not been socialized very well so he does take a minute or two to make friends with people; but once he does look out, he'll smother you with ... (Read More)kisses. We do require kids 14+ as he has never lived with kids to our knowledge. Sweet, stocky, sturdy and a bit stubborn is how we'd describe this boy. He is very smart and knows 'sit', 'wait', 'follow me', and 'down'. We had been working on 'do your business', not sure if that one has stuck yet or not. He walks on a leash nicely. He even knows to wait to be invited into/out of the house. While he knows all of these things and does them well 90% of the time he does have a stubborn streak and will employ 'selective hearing' from time to time. JJ needs a stable household with someone who can take the time to finish house training him. We are sure he would already be housetrained however there is another dog in his current residence that is not house trained. Some consistent house training work for a few days and this will be taken are of. If you can offer o the life he deserves please fill out the adoption application at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ There is an adoption fee of $40 to adopt JJ JJ is neutered, vaccinated (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-08-13-00117Sabatin (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Needs to be Neutered

Sabastin is a 1 1/2 year old male Chihuahua who came to us with two cherry eyes. He will have surgery early next week to fix those, but in the meantime he would love to have visitors come and spend some time with him. He does appear to be house trained and leash trained. He seems to get along with other smaller dogs; his behavior with larger dogs, cats, and children is unknown. If you want to apply for Sabastin, go to http://www.meridianvalleyhumanesociety.com/pre-adopt-questionnaire.rtf to fill out an application. Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Seizures

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Silly, goofy, sweet, gentle those are the words we who know her use to describe Misty the 3 year old Chihuahua mix. This pretty, long legged girl is just a joy to be around with her lopsided grin and her ambling walk. Misty is one of those dogs that just make you smile every time you see her face or watch her prance over to you for some loves. Misty had quite the hard luck life before she came to Fuzzy Pawz, living her life in a small cage. But she has put those demons behind her and is ready to settle down on the couch for a nap and a bit of tv watching with her family. Misty ... (Read More)loves nice long scratches and rubs on her chest! We do require that Misty do not go to a home that has kids under 15 as she does get overwhelmed by too much going on. Misty gets along fine with other small dogs but big dogs scare her. Misty would do best in a household that has other dogs her size or as an only dog where she can get all the love and attention. She is mostly fine with the cats in her foster home; she will on occasion take offense to them if they are being too pushy, but it is just barking. Misty does have a funny little prance when she walks; but it doesn't slow her down at all, it is the only thing she has ever known and she gets around great. And it can sometimes take her an extra second to process information when she is tired or scared. This damage is from neurological damage from birth and it not getting worse - it was from trauma when she was born. Misty is house trained but she can't hold it more than 5-6 hours so she needs to go to a home who can accommodate that. She does not enjoy walking on leash, but she does enjoy sitting in the sun in the backyard and she is great in the house. Misty does need a family that will allow her to have quiet time in her crate (her favorite place to nap) and will let her live the quiet, spoiled life she deserves. She will need a home that has a fenced yard so she can sunbathe to her hearts content. She would love to spend her days sitting in your lap soaking up your love. She really is a playful, happy little girl who has turned lemons into lemonade. If you can offer our little girl the life she should have always had please fill out the adoption application at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ There is an adoption fee of $40 to adopt Misty Misty is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped *Misty is eligible for our Pets for Patriots Program **You can see a short video of Misty walking here: http://youtu.be/3NdK4kQbVoo (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Chihuahua in Idaho
Chihuahua Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Chihuahuas are high strung, yappy, tiny dogs. Chihuahuas are loyal to the point of possessiveness and obsession with their masters. Chihuahuas are bold, high energy dogs that make wonderful companions for their owners but are suspicious of strangers. Chihuahuas are not well suited to families with children due to the dogs' defensiveness and tendency to snap when provoked. Chihuahuas need to be thoroughly socialized. Despite their small size, Chihuahuas are often aggressive with other dogs. Chihuahuas do fine living in an apartment but need plenty of daily exercise.
