Rescue Me ID: 14-11-10-00054Lovie (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Meet Lovie, a 3 year old pomchi whose name says it all. This little guy is potty trained but needs a home where his people are home most of the day as he has separation anxiety. He does not tear stuff up but rather just drools uncontrollably. He is about 10lbs, shy at first but warms up pretty fast. He came from a hoarding situation and was found when his owner passed away. He was very food aggressive and nervous, he was adopted from his local shelter twice and returned before a wonderful lady took him home to work with him. He is now ready for a forever home with someone who is patient and loving. He would make a great truck driving ... (Read More)partner as well. Rescue Me ID: 14-11-08-00138Fred (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Needs to be Neutered

Fred is a 2 year old fawn/golden Chihuahua who came to the rescue with his gal-pal Ginger. They make a lovely couple and we'd like to see them adopted together. Excitement and energy are Fred's standard for living. He walks OK on leash but likes to take the lead and set the pace. Curious about everything going on, he is well suited for a busy, active household. Fred enjoys toys and play, appears well socialized and kennels well. To meet him, or them, stop in during rescue hours 11 am - 4 pm daily. *Fred will be neutered before going to his new home.

Rescue Me ID: 14-11-05-00142Starla (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed

Starla is a 4 year old Chihuahua who is quiet and a little timid but seems to enjoy human contact. She will sit quietly in her kennel observing and awaiting her turn to be walked. Starla enjoys being out and, though she doesn't appear familiar with a lead or many commands, is willing to please. Starla begs for treats, tolerates full handling but is a bit nervous at being picked up... this should change with time as she adjusts to a new family. We highly recommend a quieter home with no small children. If you'd like to meet Starla, visit the rescue during business hours, 11 am - 4 pm daily.

Rescue Me ID: 14-11-05-00138Herby (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered

Herby is a 2 year old male Chihuahua 'guard dog'. He has a lot to say to anyone, including the other dogs, who pass by his kennel. Herby is high energy and full of attitude, putting on quite the show prancing along on lead. He love laps, snuggling, and wants to thoroughly investigate everything. Herby doesn't appear to have much training but does know to stand on his hind legs and beg for treats which he accepts gently. If you would like to meet Herby, visit the rescue during business hours, 11 am - 4 pm daily.

Rescue Me ID: 14-10-17-00536Chubby (male)

Chihuahua    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

FOSTER LOCATION: Boise, ID Sweet little Chubby looks like he is a Corgi trapped in a Chihuahua body; making him the cutest dog this side of the Continental Divide. This little man is 7 years old and just a sweet heart. Chubbs takes a little while to feel comfortable with new people and so can be a little stand offish until he gets to know you; he's not mean about it he's just shy. While he loves to be close, he prefers not the center of attention. He likes to follow his foster mom around and sit right next to her but doesn't actually get in her lap very often. This should change over time; once he has a home that is his very own and he ... (Read More)finds that special person who will bring him peace. When we took Chubby from the shelter he was totally in love with one of the workers there and was all over her seeking her attention. This boy didn't have the best of lives and did not grow up learning to be a normal happy, playful dog and sadly never learned how to play with toys. He is however very good with other dogs, having lived with lots of them in the past this isn't surprising. Chubby would probably do best in a household with another dog that he can model behavior after or with an owner that has lots of time to devote to him. He is very quiet in the house and perfectly house trained. While Chubbs is okay with kids he would need to be in a home with children who know to respect his wanting to be left alone at times. Loud, running kids would make him shut down. Chubby also met a cat while he was in the shelter and didn't seem to care about it one way or the other so we think he'd be fine with them. He loves to jump up on the couch and likes to sleep with his doggie friends in your bed. He is a great little traveler, he went to Cascade last weekend and he slept the whole way. Loves to just sit in the car so have to watch just leaving the door open in the garage or he jumps in and falls asleep. Chubby is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped If you can offer Chubby a lifetime of happiness and learning please fill out the application for her at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/ and her foster Mom will get back to you quickly. There is a $40 adoption fee for Chubby (Less)

Billy Bob is a 10 year old long haired chihuahua with gold and white hair and a little black nose. He has been in our family since 8 weeks old. He is a very sweet boy that loves everyone but has a bit of a food obsession. He shares well but likes to sit and protect any food left out. He has never been abused but the kids no longer have interest in dogs, my husband works out of town, and my work schedule keeps me away from home too much. He must be adopted with his long time little brother Aussie, also listed on this site.

Chihuahua    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This animal is available to licensed rescue groups only.  Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. Aussie must be adopted with his best friend Billy Bob (also on this site). He is a long haired chihuahua with red hair and a pink nose. He has been in our home since 3 months old and has never been harmed in any way. He has always had dog, cat, and human companions but despite this has a very submissive personality. The kids are getting older and don't have time to play with the dogs anymore. It breaks my heart to give them up but my husband works out of town and my work schedule keeps me away from home too much. Over the past several months I've noticed that these sweet boys spend more time alone than with people. They need a new ... PIease Read Before Adopting a Chihuahua in Idaho
Chihuahua Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Chihuahuas are high strung, yappy, tiny dogs. Chihuahuas are loyal to the point of possessiveness and obsession with their masters. Chihuahuas are bold, high energy dogs that make wonderful companions for their owners but are suspicious of strangers. Chihuahuas are not well suited to families with children due to the dogs' defensiveness and tendency to snap when provoked. Chihuahuas need to be thoroughly socialized. Despite their small size, Chihuahuas are often aggressive with other dogs. Chihuahuas do fine living in an apartment but need plenty of daily exercise.
