Rescue Me ID: 15-09-02-00107Shasta (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed

Shasta's foster mom reports that she is a snuggle-bug who loves to crawl under the covers and snuggle up close to you. She is almost house-trained and already crate trained; with just a little patience, she will do great in the house. She prefers women and tends to bark at men but will accept treats from everyone. She has been in a home with several dogs and young children and has fit right in and gets along with everyone. She is just a sweet baby girl looking for a perfect forever home. You can meet Shasta at the rescue during business hours, 11 am - 4 pm daily. *Please contact the rescue for Shasta's adoption fee.

Rescue Me ID: 15-08-14-00269Molly (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Low Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

This is Molly May she will be 9 yrs old on Christmas and weighs 7 lbs. She is a toy poodle mix. We have had her since she was 6 weeks old so this is hard for my husband and I. We didn't expect to be able to have children but a year ago God blessed us with a little boy. Since our son became mobile we have discovered that she does not do well with children. So sadly we need to find her a new home. She is a great companion and would do great with an older person or a couple. She is house broken and prefers to be in the house unless she goes out to potty. She is also kennel trained and we will provide one for whomever wants her. She loves to ... (Read More)cuddle in the blankets. She is not hyper and does not run when she is taken out. She does well on a leash. We got her fixed after she had a litter years ago but has not had her shots yet this year. The only grooming that Molly requires is her nails clipped. Molly cries so her eyes are tear stained and not much can be done for that except daily face wipe down with a warm wet washcloth. Please contact me with any questions you may have.UPDATE*** Molly does best in a home with only one other dog. Sincerely, Kelly & Derrick (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-08-10-00459Decker (male)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Most Cats
Personality: Very High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Needs to be Neutered

Decker is very high strung 2-3 year old chihuahua/beagle cross. He is not neutered. He doesn't like new people and he needs a lot of training. He's bitten my husband in the past, but usually he just growls as a warning and won't actually bite. He needs someone with the time, energy and most of all compassion to help him be the best he can be.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Chihuahua in Idaho
Chihuahua Dogs can make good pets in Idaho if they match your IifestyIe. Chihuahuas are high strung, yappy, tiny dogs. Chihuahuas are loyal to the point of possessiveness and obsession with their masters. Chihuahuas are bold, high energy dogs that make wonderful companions for their owners but are suspicious of strangers. Chihuahuas are not well suited to families with children due to the dogs' defensiveness and tendency to snap when provoked. Chihuahuas need to be thoroughly socialized. Despite their small size, Chihuahuas are often aggressive with other dogs. Chihuahuas do fine living in an apartment but need plenty of daily exercise.
