BRANDON What a pretty honey colored little boy I am....and just as sweet as honey, too! I am Brandon, a Rat Terrier and Chihuahua mix....we think! I'm a little guy, weighing only 18 pounds and about one year old. I had a family but they didn't want me anymore - they brought me to a kill shelter and 'surrendered me.' I am so excited to have my 'very own people!' A family that will play with me, walk me, let me snuggle and cuddle on their laps and just ... (Read More)live happily ever after! Chihuahua    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Here another special Little Dog who needs a very special home. You remember Biscotti, Dear HLD Friends. She came to us from Fayetteville Animal Services. She was brought into the shelter as a stray and was absolutely terrified of being handled. She would scream and snarl and snap when they tried to pick her up. They had to resort to bite gloves to handle her. They even put her on Fluoxitine (Prozac). Well, one look at her precious face, and we knew we had to try to help this little darling. We fetched her from the shelter, named her Biscotti (also known as Bizy), and took her to our Master Foster, Laura. And since Bizy has been with Laura, ... (Read More)some remarkable changes have taken place. She truly is a different dog. She'll now climb up in a lap to be petted and patted. She loves to sleep in bed, snuggled up next to her human. She'll even cozy up to visitors. It's a beautiful thing to see what love and patience can do. Biscotti wants to be loved and cuddled like every chihuahua should be, and we think it's time to start looking for her forever home. Bizy is still a work in progress. She still needs lots of understanding, patience and love. The transition from foster home to forever home will take a little time. But what a blessing it will be to the lucky human who takes this once terrified little dog into their heart and home and gives her the love she needs so much. We guarantee that Bizy will return that love a hundredfold. Biscotti is about 6 years old and weighs about 6 pounds. She's spayed, microchipped, housetrained, and up to date on her vaccinations. For more information about Biscotti, please e-mail us at houseoflittledogs@gmail.com. Or you can contact us via our website here: http://www.houseoflittledogs.com/contact.html. You can submit an adoption application via our website here: http://www.houseoflittledogs.com/application.html. Our adoption process is simple. We ask you to complete a one-page application. An interview will then take place in your home. There will be no adoption fee. Donations, though, will be appreciated. Adoptions outside of Northwest Arkansas are not out of the question. We welcome sincere inquiries from anywhere, and we're happy to work with long-distance applicants. (Less)

Chihuahua    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

MOJO I know - you can't believe how cute I am!!!! I am MoJo, a long haired Chihuahua with the softest fur you've ever petted. I'm a little guy, about 10 pounds - just the right size for your lap! I had a home but my Mom was not really very caring or loving. I'm a senior, aged 7, and I need to potty on a schedule - who doesn't? Anyway, she 'occasionally' would let me out if she 'thought of it' but I would go h-o-u-r-s without being able to go out. I had some accidents and she got mad and threw me out in the snow - she said she was done with me and she didn't care if I froze to death. Boy, it was winter and so-ooo cold. What's a little boy to ... (Read More)do? Thankfully a kind lady rescued me before I froze to death. She took me home, bundled me up in blankies and loved on me until I warmed up. Then she fed me and loved on me some more! Boy, it sure is nice to be loved and cared for! Now it is time for me to find my forever home - where someone will love and care for me all of my life. Chihuahuas live a LONG time so she wants to find someone who wants a forever fur baby! I have been neutered, my shots are current and I am ready to come to your lap, I mean home! I am little so I know there is room in your home and heart...and your lap. Then I'll look at you with my big brown eyes, your heart will melt and we'll live happily ever after! Please text or call Mary Ann at (501) 276-2385. (Less)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Low Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Gizmo is a very loving 13 year old Chiweenie. He is blonde in color. We have had him since he was 9 weeks old, but due to my moms health problems we are having to sell our house and move to another state and we can not take him with us. He is still active and walks around fine and hops on the bed and plays if you try to play with him. He has never been a barker, unless he wants outside or back in or unless someone is at the door. He has been raised with kids, cats, and chickens and pigs. He is older than some of the grandkids. I really do not want to put him to sleep, but unless someone can foster him until he finds a permanent home or can ... (Read More)take him for a forever home I will be forced to. He still has a good 4-7 years left in him. Please help him. He is about 18 pounds (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-01-21-00457Akasha (female)

Chihuahua    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

She's pretty, isn't she? You just can't deny it. Even that silly burn on her back (that is healing very nicely, thank you) can not mar Akasha's beauty. And she's quite modest about her good looks. In fact, she's a bit shy at first, but once she's comfortable around you (which happens quite quickly), your lap suddenly becomes her spot. And she can become a bit of a diva. She sometimes has a hard time tolerating her obviously less attractive canine companions. But Akasha is a good girl who just generally gets along with other dogs. And she is an exceptional cuddler. Akasha is about 5 years old and weighs about 12 pounds. She's spayed, up to ... (Read More)date on her vaccinations, microchipped, and trained to piddle pads. Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

'11 years of experience in the fine art of companionship.' What does that mean? It means that Chico is a dog who has perfected the leisurely stroll down the street and the bouncing gallop to adventures in the park. (This old boy still has plenty of pep in his step.) It means he has mastered cuddling on the couch in front of the television. (He prefers baseball to football, but any game will do as long as there are snacks.) It means Chico is an expert in all things dog -- loyalty, love, humor, joy. (Chico loves all people, kids, other dogs. He is a most generous canine.) Chico is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, ... (Read More)housetrained, and microchipped. Now, here's your chance to love and be loved by this exceptional creature.
