This handsome boy is Milo! Milo is about a year and a half old neutered, kennel trained and micro-chipped 7 pound chihuahua. Milo LOVES toys and would be a great family dog in a home with school aged children or with just adults. Milo loves car rides and does well on a leash. He does well with other dogs and cats, but he does want to be the alpha male. If you would like to adopt this handsome boy please contact me.

Animal ID: 156426Candy (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Health: Vaccinations Current

This grand lady needs an open-hearted soul who would take care of her for her senior years. She was turned in because her owner had to go to a nursing home. Another dog, Misty, was also her pet so it would be really wonderful if they were adopted together. Both dogs are fearful and anxious here in the shelter and may take a little time to become secure in a new setting. She may already be housebroken and trained and would be a good candidate for someone who would enjoy a slightly more mature companion. Come meet them and judge for yourself. For the most current information on HAS animals available for adoption, check the Friends of ... (Read More)Huntsville Animal Services pages on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/huntsvilleanimalservices/photos_stream You are able to ask questions on individual animals and are usually answered promptly. Animals are adopted on a first come, first serve basis. You may want to call and ask if I am still available prior to visiting the shelter. When you adopt me, I will stay at the shelter and be taken to the veterinarian of your choice where I will be spayed or neutered before going to my new home. If I am already spayed or neutered, I can go home with you upon adoption. My adoption cost is very affordable and includes my adoption fee, spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming, license (if you live within Huntsville city limits), a collar and personalized ID tag. Please know that a high percentage of animals in the shelter are brought in as strays. It is impossible to know anything about a stray animal and many times we can only make our best educated guess on breeds, age, etc. Every animal you see posted here has passed a general temperament test as performed by shelter staff and it is considered to be non-aggressive. ADOPTION FEES Dogs: $80 - 170 - includes spay/neuter surgery, vaccinations, rabies voucher, deworming, *heart worm and flea/tick prevention; purebred dogs and puppies tend to cost more and dogs that have been in the shelter longer will probably cost less. He would do best in a quiet home where there is not a lot of activity. He will need someone who will be understanding of the his life before rescue and will show him patience as he learns a new way of living and to trust.     Chihuahua Dogs can make good pets in Alabama if they match your IifestyIe. Chihuahuas are high strung, yappy, tiny dogs. Chihuahuas are loyal to the point of possessiveness and obsession with their masters. Chihuahuas are bold, high energy dogs that make wonderful companions for their owners but are suspicious of strangers. Chihuahuas are not well suited to families with children due to the dogs' defensiveness and tendency to snap when provoked. Chihuahuas need to be thoroughly socialized. Despite their small size, Chihuahuas are often aggressive with other dogs. Chihuahuas do fine living in an apartment but need plenty of daily exercise.
